Surely he’s 3rd choice now though for one position behind Grabban and soudani? Or is soudani going to play deeper? I still really rate him I think warburton did not help him int he way he was used to play a position that did not suit his game at all.

He does need to improve his touch though. Also he really needs to work on his strength which you’d hope will come as he gets older. He wins very few headers on the halfway line. Hopefully Murphy can teach him as that’s pretty much all he can do...

Don't forget Murphy. I think he looked very much up for it and played well against Betis. I believe he's capable of challenging Grabban for a starting spot at least when we need more of a target man.

Ben's confidence seemed to take a knock under Warburton. Gary Brazil seemed to get the best out of him vs Arsenal (with a wry smile on his face...looks like Gary knows his Academy stars and plays to their strengths...)

If Forest go 3-4-2-1, 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 (er. I dunno. I don't envy Karanka picking the first 11 vs Bristol...) on occasion...could you imagine Grabban, Soudani and Brereton running at the opposition? I wouldn't like to be the defender on the receiving end of that. Bre' will be a bigger threat playing alongside Soudani or Grabban or both. A defender has to look after all three or even two of them. Gonna have a hard time. I think in that scenario, Ben's pace is going to run them ragged more being part of the Forest attacking mix with a through ball rather than leading the line.

Murphy, with his head straight, has his part to play.  (Some didn't quite understand his signing. But I did. In a side devoid of experience...his presence counted for a lot. His goals helped keep Forest up last season.  Forest looked lost without him before Christmas when he didn't play...and when his form dipped and his head was elsewhere.)

He still is a quality striker.  And he's good at what he does.  (If a Forest fan had told me we'd have a front line of Grabban (20 goal man), Soudani (battle hardened and prolific international), Murphy (quality target man) and Bre' (young gun) for a four man strike force, I'd have torn their arm off for the last season. All give Forest different options and combinations which may be difficult to handle.)

He'll keep defenders busy and he gives Forest other options.  Whether he's starting or coming on for the last 15 mins to give teams something else to think about.

As a defender, you've had to cope with Grabban for most of the match then on comes another towering striker to deal with.

That's the strength in depth Forest were crying out for last season.  Murphy can be a strategic weapon.

I hope Karanka energises him.  And so far in pre-season, he seems up for that challenge.  Good on 'im.

I think his confidence took a bit of a knock, no doubt he's a great talent and hopefully he will continue to learn and improve.

Er.  I hope not, in this instance.  He's 19 and ripe with potential.

With our current squad I hope Ben develops with us, as when he 'pops' he's going bucket goals.

Like with Lascelles etc.  We now are in the position to develop the likes of Cash, Yates and Ben'.

We kept Os' and have had a decent Forest player from the Academy forged in the fires of the last train load of managers.

Should hold our nerve with Ben' and others.  

Been a bit fed up of eg. Chelsea picking off Bamford and others being cherry picked even as far back as Dawson and Reid under Doughty.

Be nice to keep hold of Ben' and see him to his ££ million potential.

Think so too.  Don't want to be left wondering.  

Play to his strength with through balls.  We now have that quality delivery.

Put Bre' and Grabban on for the last twenty minutes with two quality wingers and I think Championship defences are going to have a hard time.

Want to keep and add to our strikers.  Not lose them.

I have a completely opposite view to that, didn't play nearly enough out there, unless you are absolutely outstanding or play for a club with few options out and out strikers like Benny will be benched all to often 

IMO he has to adapt his game to be able to take 2,3 even 4 positions in the team otherwise its an up hill battle all the way
