Forest Squad - Keep/Sell
#13
Aside from the petty slagging matches there is a point here. The choices are keep/sell, always the assumption there is another club willing to buy our cast offs.

No chance we get a fee for Taiwo, Boly etc and you need another club to match their wages too. For those we have signed recently who arent making the grade if we sell now we will have an eye watering loss we cannot afford. The likes of McAtee need a loan somewhere they can play and hopefully show some ability, for him almost certainly abroad before we can even think of selling.

It's been an interesting debate fellas recently on the forum and the forum seems divided on what has gone wrong and who is to blame etc.

Just like to say thanks to you all for keeping it friendly and not falling out and name calling etc.

The truth is that everybody probably needs to take a share of the blame and not just one person is responsible for the current situation.

The coaching staff, Edu, the players and even EM himself all need to be doing better.

I remember people discussing the terrible reviews from the Swansea fans when we appointed that guy from Swansea...

I’ve referred to it. I was saying that it was Hughton’s fault, and that the players look worse than they are due to his tactics. And we needed to get rid. Most defended him saying the players weren’t good enough or that he needed more time (I wanted him gone after a month). (Whatever happened to Strawberry Avenger?! He wouldn’t have a word of it!). I actively wanted us to have a terrible start to that promotion season so he would be sacked and then we could salvage the season. Yes, I wanted us to lose matches, for the long term good because I was confident of what was wrong. I said you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how we do once Hughton is gone…

I feel there are echos of that this season with our players being down-rated, the old adage that players are only as good as their last game. I don’t think Dyche is Hughton levels of bad. And I don’t want us to lose now btw. But I feel his approach has us currently less than the sum of our parts. But it’s also crucial after 2 changes already that we find the Cooper equivalent when we do make a change, so I’m really hoping we can salvage this season and get to the summer with some European success under Sean, Ian and Steve.
