Coops was a fantastic player, always looked like he had time in the ball and could hit a free kick.

I always thought that had he not arrived so soon after Des W that Coops would have been placed higher in one of our greatest centre backs to wear the Garibaldi.

Franz Carr. My opinion is a hit

I liked Franz, he was a real winger. Fast with good ball skills and usually a quality end product. Occasional goal but his down side was consistency. Too often he was 'missing' but overall I'd give him 7/10. On his day though more like a 9.

What about John McGovern? Nor appreciated at the time but look at the silverware he held aloft on behalf of our club. I think we paid £65,000 for him and John O'Hare from dirty Leeds and John was thrown into the deal as O'Hare was deemed the more valuable player, early sort of BOGOF deal at the time!
