Maybe a little reality check here. A motivated Murray put in an impressive 75 minutes and his first goal was of a quality better than I have seen either of our other strikers produce.
But he is not the answer to our problems. It was his debut and it was against by far the poorest team in the league. He wont do that every week against better defences and he would still ideally be deployed as has been said in the Adebola role for 30 minutes or so to see a game out. With a better striker next to him (last seasons Grabban) he would be excellent and in theory worth another 12 months but lets see how the rest of the season pans out first.
Finally Murray has kept himself fit, good condition and a model professional but we have seen what the policy of bring in 30+ year olds has done overall, he does not vindicate those decisions and is why we have too many players who are slow, poor injury records and just plain aren't hungry enough.

Agree with you on this one SM. I believe all our three striker will potentially have a lot more success with our new more dynamic midfield. The midfield is for me the key here.

Agree With you there Gari, its off topic but would like to try Yates, Garner and Krovinovic as a central 3. Think would offer more energy and creativity then we have seen from our midfield in a long time.

We have been crying for a player like him all season. I said this months ago that we needed 'an Adebola', the way how we play suits more Murray than Grabban and Taylor. My guess is that for those two to be used more, they will end up have to play in the number 10 role or wingers. Unless Murray tires up ...CH will be starting with him each game.
Side note, how old is Ibrahimovic? And fof whom is he playing these says...

Modesto and Anigo come in for some stick, rightly so, but the embodiment of their awfulness is displayed in the fact that neither came close to getting us a Murray type player over several years. 

They clearly recognized the need for one with the likes of Mir coming here, but Jesus wept the difference in all round quality & application is night & day.

Murray's showed more in 1 game than all the other "target men" type signings we've made in that time.

Yep, I'm not jumping aboard this Murray bandwagon. He did well on Saturday and put in a really good performance. I'm happy to see him at the club and I've got no problem with his age if CH still thinks he can contribute something. But let's not go overboard with him. He could well be ineffectual on Saturday. Like SM says, I see his role as the guy that comes on with 30 minutes to go rather than a starter.

Murray knows his body better than anyone, I think he's capable of both 70 minutes from the start or 30 minutes from the bench.

I agree one game is way too little evidence bit can't we bask in the resounding positivity. Not sure when we last had this universal level of positivity towards Forest!

Everyone needs to be better and not getting too high on good games and low on bad games and also pay more attention to the opposition.

However given that's never gonna happen let's just enjoy it this week before everyone lays into Murray next week...
