Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager

I thought Sabri was getting the most out of the players to begin with, but we didn’t have depth and the lack of reinforcements in January hurt us badly. Couldn’t say we weren’t in the best 7 over the course of the season, and there wasn’t more than 6 squads I’d have swapped ours for.

This season is my issue, because I think we’ve underperformed. I see QPR in 9th, 13 points ahead of us, and I wouldn’t take their squad over ours. Boro 10th, then Millwall, Luton, Preston...I think we have better playing resources and probably more financial resources than all of them. Yet we’re lower in the table. So I think we’ve underperformed. Is that controversial?

Now why have we underperformed? I think a better manager would have had us significantly higher in the table, I think that was the biggest factor. Not being defeatist about coming into a team in poor form, but grabbing it by the scruff of the neck, recognising you have some good players and taking it on.

I would've put us about 10th on paper last year and probably around 12th this year so yes agree with underachiever.

You're completely ignoring the massive mitigating factors for the manager. Ie losing the best 5/6 players from the previous season to injury or sale. That's a pretty big loss to any team, would you not agree?

Also, you add 6-8 points on for not losing the first four games and we'd have been around QPR all season.

I don't think we have a better squad than Boro, Preston or Millwall. Just googled it our wage bill had us in 11th, so that's probably a good place to start in terms of pre season rankings. I also think most would agree some of that has not been well spent, arter, jenkinson etc so arguably lower than that.

So I really don't get why some people think we have this amazing team that would've easily made playoffs under another manager

Spot on, Wassy.

Glad the season is over. Although can you name a Forest manager (who has managed over 15 games) with a worse win ratio than Hughtons 29%?

Another pointless stat, you should really add a weighting for games that had absolutely no meaning.

Not a lot either, I would be hailing their manager as a messiah based on today.

Also by the sounds of it we were robbed today.

If the games had no meaning, we might aswell just fold as a football club right now. Because seriously what’s the point in even playing???

If only we had a manager who took every game seriously......Or any game come to that!

I would've expected no different regardless of who the manager was. I get you have your reservations but can't you just accept the logic of sticking with a manager long term ,with a good CV. So you don't expect us to do well next year, you'll be pleasantly surprised if we do then!

Fans opinions matter, if we have a united front going into next season then he'll have more time. Sacking managers doesn't work unless you have parachute payments perhaps. Certainly hasn't worked for us.

Also, are you just going to ignore the massive mitigating circumstances of not having the 5 best players from the previous year?
