I am not knocking Wozza by the way and I certainly don't want him to go.

Never thought you were, good debate, which shows how highly rated Mckenna is too - because I am assuming you didn't mean Figs ?

We had a debate in the summer, if we had to lose 1 of Brennan or Joe and I think the majority said keep Joe and sell Brennan.
Think would be the other way around now although circumstances may force our hand. Not sure any offer for Wozza will be quite the mega bucks we are hoping for. He has always had an error in him but his leadership and attitude is what makes him stand out, qualities that are much harder to find than simply bringing in a replacement reliable defender.

Plus Worrall will continue to improve with his attitude being so good as he isn't at his peak yet.

Unfortunately it just doesn’t work like that. If teams offer the required amount then they will go.

What is important is the recruitment strategy to replace them.

Brentford being the perfect example. Sold Top players every summer and still keep getting stronger.

Unfortunately the 8m release clause his reps are insisting on will mean he is likely to go in Jan.

Worrall is under contract for another 3 yrs so no panic. 

I’m not 100% convinced he will get a move.

Plenty have looked but apart from Burnley and Brentford haven’t put money on the table.

Doubt we will part with Joe for less than 10m so I think we can keep him and McKenna together for the long run.

So very true.

I think keeping Joe for his leadership is the more important out of the two.

However, Brennan has been a big part of Forest's 'ulster' in terms of attacking play.  But with the impasse between his reps and Forest, you said it.  £££ in the bank rather than letting him run his contract down.  Pity.  He's barely got started at Forest and show sound promise.

I'd rather we didn't lose either...however...

Always a chance for some panic buying from the prem clubs in the Jan window, just look at the panicked sackings that have happened lately. 

There is also Newcastle that could breath life into the market, they'll surely be shopping for the top championship players in the short term. A starting calibre centre back is definitely what they need.

As for Brennan why the need to sell in Jan? If we keep the upward trajectory would we not just be best keeping him and seeing where we are in the summer? Would his value really decrease in that time period, when the Jan window is notoriously difficult to get good value. Would teams in the prem be looking to spend big money on a player they would likely loan back (probably to us) for the following season?
