The League Table Come May 2019

I want to see a bit more of us yet before making a prediction (have only seen the w brom game). I also want to see a few other teams on tv (Derby -Leeds will be an interesting watch). But, i was pretty impressed with what I saw on Tuesday. Not only have we brought quality players in, but the players from last year seem energised and improved. A huge leap has been made, no doubt about that. Even Jonno said on the telly he had re-evaluated his opinion after watching us. He tells it as it is and predicted possible top 2. The other pundits were impressed too. Jonno said he was surprised we hadnt brought n a dominant defender - well look what happend yesterday!

At this early stage, im saying 6th place min.

Top 8 still for me.

If we bring in a RB...top 6.

Heff and Dawson would be an interesting combo...

Still early days.  When Forest have played Leeds, Derby, Boro and Villa we will know a lot more.

I also note the reaction from the opposition managers. Moore said he came here on Tuesday primarily to get a result. Lee Johnson said his team did well to restrict us in the 2nd half at Bristol.

This is the language of managers who think they are playing against top quality opposition. Not heard us being described in those kind of terms for many a year.

Pretty much anyone who has seen us seems to be impressed so far.

Good catch: re: managers set up to restrict us.  Those are telling comments.

It's been a while since we've had that.

As things stand we are in 5th place.

Given the choice, wold you take that now to be the final table?

I would take it.

I think Forest are now good for a top 6 finish.  How good in that top 6?

We're about to find out over this season.

If we are somehow top 2 for most of the season but end up fifth on the last day then I would be disappointed. However, if we are seventh or eighth most of the season and then we finish fifth then I would be delighted.

From what I've seen (ie all the home games), I think we're a top 10 club at best.

I've been impressed with other teams I've seen. Norwich, Birmingham & Sheff Wed all put in good performances against us. Even Milwall and Rotherham were good and they're at the bottom of the table.

I think the quality of the league has improved significantly in the last 2 or 3 years. Expecting us to improve just to stay still will take time, let alone leap-frogging these other good teams.
