In the broader sense. Performance, depth and coaching/management all fell slightly short in the end compared with our rivals.

our strongest team is top 6 standard, no doubt.
Our next 10 players down as a group are bottom half level as a collective.

But we have to remember where we have come from.

To have a first X1 top 6 standard is incredible.
The next phase will come this summer. Improve the first X1 in a few positions and have better impact off the bench, and we should be able to give another top 6 finish a go.

I think the big mistake was changing the mindset from One game at a time to talking about it being in our hands. 
The Club as a whole will learn from that.

One game at a time mindset throughout the whole season with Players able to impact the game starting or off the bench.

Agree there was a collective loss of focus around the same time the fans started singing about Barcelona.

But we started singing that at the stage when it appeared to be harder to fail than not to. We were basically home and hosed and the press and fans wanted to talk about it. You can't avoid the noise, the big clubs and top players just know how to screen it out and stay focussed.

The teams we faced second time round were better then we faced the first time round and probably for all types of reasons.

City and Chelsea’s monumental depth and wealth shone through by the end no matter what dips they had.

We also probably peaked at the wrong time. But tell me if we had reversed the results of this season struggled at the start but then rushed up the table to finish 7th everyone would be praising the effort of the team this season
