^ This.
I prefer to take the opinions of our manager and coaching staff over some random comments from the post or from Bolton fans.

You know we say that every time about signings and yet 9/10 times the fans who watch the player week in week out get the correct call. Due to the fact it’s not just Bolton fans ribbing us but Newcastle fans and Cardiff fans are joining in I think we can say the chances of Sammy suddenly out nowhere becoming a player are very slim indeed.
And from my experience having seen him now and then he makes Cash look like one of the best crossers in the division. Safe to say I really am not a fan and nor would I be a fan if we were buying him in league 1. Go on Sammy prove me wrong and make me eat my words.

I agree I think it’s safe to trust the Bolton fans opinions. It’s a one year deal though so no risk, basically a loan signing

Newcastle fans have been ribbing us about Colback for nearly 2 seasons, but he hasn't done us any harm in the time he was with us.

Slightly off topic, but does it piss anyone else of that someone can be caught speeding, make up some bullshit and get off.
Says he needs car to get to Nottm for work from Newcastle, as there are no trains. Wrong.
Also says he's just moved to Nottm, doesn't that get rid of his 1st reason to keep licence.
Needs car to do do work with sick kids in hospital and "stuff. Really!
Anyway good that Ameobi has moved to Nottm, and he was caught ages ago when at Bolton!

I thought Ameobi changed the game when he came on yesterday, he carried the ball forward really well with his direct running.
He also impressed me greatly when he moved into the strikers roll against Atromitos in Athens.
I reckon he will turn out to be an astute signing for us.

I did think he was a clever signing simply in that we dont have anyone else like him. Particularly as an impact sub he is always going to give defenders something else to think about and it showed yesterday.

He’s on a one year contract so that may be a factor in him working hard to earn a longer deal. Shrewd business?
