Probably but Ribs was just back from injury & lining up against Hudson-Odoi, Barkley & James.
Robinson gets done by much lesser players, Ribs generally doesn't.
If Robinson had played on Sunday I think we would've been looking at more than a 2-0 defeat, just my opinion.

From what I saw of it, both goals came from a lack of cover in front of him. (Who was supposed to be covering in front of him?) When Forest addressed that the goals for Chelsea dried up.
Which suggests Rib' wasn't caught further up the pitch from a Chelsea attack or ball watching.
Whereas Jack Robinson? His form hasn't been the greatest this season as last, mere shadow of last season where his character was one of my favourite attibributes. Maybe he doesn't fit well in new system this season. He isn't coming back from an injury and Rib' is. Robinson's clear weakness has been getting caught out of position and not tracking back or ball watching. When Jack plays 'his' side is often targeted. Maybe opposition managers have sussed something about him or the system Forest play.
In the end, Rib' was up against far superior opposition and he's coming back from an injury. He did well in the context of getting minutes into his legs.
If Riberio ball watches or goes forward and doesn't track back (if) he gets to play against Championship opposition then I'm sure he'll get called out as well and we can play Chema' instead.
Perhaps we can judge Riberio as harshly when he's had the same amount of games as Robinson has of late for it to be a reasonable comparison.

That's a fair comment. I was glad to see Ribo back but he didn't have his best game.
If you're back from injury, you're not fully match fit. And not only that, Forest and Rib' were up against £150 million (?) in talent. Unless you're fully fit (and even if you are) you're going to struggle no matter how talented you are. And if someone isn't doing their job in front of you? You've got no chance.
It may not be fashionable to say it, but...'Both Chelsea goals came through Car'...' (until they stuck someone else in front of Rib'?) ie. Did they switch Car to the role he is 'most suited' to and put someone else in front of Rib'?
Defending starts much further up the pitch. And the shot? Smith was soundly beaten at his near post.
Singling out 1 unfit player out of three that were fit and couldn't do their jobs is mute.
I suppose you could say if 3 players were beaten soundly (one not even covering or tracking back?) then it is a systemic failure of defending from the front. A team failure.
It just looked like Chelsea steamrollered a deck of cards that collapsed. The domino's went down one by one.
I remember Forest tanking and TONKING Chelsea 6-0. I remember when Chelsea seemed to have crowds of 6k. We've fallen away. They've ascended to the gods.
So they, and their £150 million beat our 'unfit' LB. And they really beat him in the 2nd half and scored more goals...?

As for that 'tracking' back. I remember when the Portuguese 'lad' didn't track back against WBA last season and it lead to a very similar goal. Almost like for like.
There wasn't much the LB could do in that scenario either. (Well, unless you're Stuart Pearce and a LB GOD!)
The 'guy' that didn't track back didn't play for Aitor again. (Just about.)
I guess Aitor liked results. I guess excuses didn't concern him.
Forest have seemed more solid with Chema at LB the leaky goals under Robinson dried up somewhat. But I suppose that compromised the system balance of going forwards. Whether Rib' is the LB answer or not we'll need to see more from him at LB to compare. But from the games he has played in Forest seem to tick better, seems to fit the system of the Coach better and has that touch of class that Robinson doesn't.
Probably try Robinson 1st half against Reading and then bring Rib' on for the 2nd half? Either way. Both LBs will be up against a stern test, Chelsea or no Chelsea. And The Coach would do well to make sure we have cover ahead of the LB. He has to take some of the criticism too. I wouldn't be surprised if Jack left (in the Summer) and another LB came in. Except that, for now, our priorities are more pressing (pun intended) elsewhere.

Hes vulnerable defensively. Hes not the answer people think he is. Beaten very easily on the inside.

I agree Jock. He is good enough going forward but defensively flawed. That said he wont be up against James and Hudson odoi every week will he?

Perhaps. And maybe Forest aren't the final solution defensively. Would we say Forest are 'rock' solid defensively this season? Though, at times, Worrall and Dawson seemed imperious. We have Cash at RB (converted) and Robinson who played CH mainly for QPR and is converted back to LB under Forest.
Maybe some of the players I want to do well are just average. And it's back to recruit to find better. We'll see what January and the Summer brings. We'll either be top 6 or not. Top 2 or not. Without Sow? Not. Either. All players fit and firing? Top 6. Maybe top 2 if Sow stays fit and Forest play to their best.
But overall, of the games he's played I've felt he's been a force for good. He'll do well to be as mediocre as Robinson has been this season. Not something I like saying as I felt Robinson was one of the stand outs from last season and one of the types of player I felt we needed more of for his flexibility and aggression. But this time around, I don't know what's happened to him. Perhaps teh system expects more from Robinson than he can manage in terms of his ability.
The LB position seems to have been a running sore for Forest right back to the embarrassment of failing to sign a LB at all under Davies. And the one classy one we did get (we all know who...) we couldn't hang on to.
We'll need to see more of Rib' at LB. A run of games. I get the impression 'The Coach' fancies him more than Robinson. But if he gets beaten on his inside (or can't head a ball which I think was also levelled against him...) then he won't be in the team for long.
If he does concede goals then he'll be out. And Chema drafted in.
LB and DCM aren't fashionable positions. But the scrutiny of both over the last 'team of the decade' are worth noting. I don't want this to sound back handed. But that Chris Cohen was our player of the decade as a converted LB says a lot more about Forest and it's running and recruitment over the last decade. I always felt Cohen's energy were better served in Midfield.
I'm glad to hear the other opinions about Rib' and Yates even though I favour them. The truth varies greatly and depends on our point of view.

Carvalho looked completely lost & devoid of any kind of confidence, mostly running around in circles trying to get near the ball.
When he did get the ball he didn't really do anything with it.
I felt really bad for him :(

There was a bit in the stream of the game where he's about to take the free kick. He looked haggard, lost and stir crazy. I don't mean to be impolite but he looked as if his head had 'gone.'
He probably IS trying if he's running around in circles. 'But.'
His self belief in his ability?
Sometimes in life, no matter how hard you try...it feels like the tidal forces of time and space are against you. Here we are...with a mercurial player and we have yet to unlock his full potential and his belief seems shot.
How to harness that. As someone in another thread with Mighten. How do you curate young talent instead of building your promotion season upon it.
Building his confidence from the subs bench seems best to me. Perhaps the sports psych' can get a hold of him. The Coach put his arm around him and get to the bottom of it.

First is was Osborne.
Now it’s Riberio.
Surely we can get the names of our own players right?
