Europe and injuries are taking their toll. We have the squad but only if we have very few injuries, we can't rotate much and now it looks like Yates is going to be missing and Sangare will be off to AFCON. Starting to look threadbare.

I like Dyche and he can be effective. The issue is why have we totally dispensed with what worked well last season, let the opponent have the ball, hit on the break?

So we have lost Elanga. But Hutchinson can fill that role, Ndoye for all his critics isnt slow. Jesus and Kalimuendo in particular you would think would thrive on that style. OK so we got found out at the end of last season but it doesn’t mean we had to throw what worked in the bin does it? We had 58% possession today and apart from Andersons effort once again didn’t remotely look dangerous.

I don’t think the result today was on Dyche. The players didn’t turn up. How many times did Morgan touch the ball? We can’t defend without Murillo in the side and we created nothing on either flank, so Jesus had no service. Bad day at the office with low energy levels/tired players. The gaffer has only been here a few games and has got us winning matches. We always struggle against Everton and I’m sure he’ll have a few choice words to turn us around

Picking up a Yellow card in the first minute, then conceding a goal straight after didn't help. Add in a biased ref and what sounded like some really gruesome challenges from their centre halves, plus a team that is stretched fitness wise, and you get a result like this. Previously Dyche had 4 wins out of 5. This was not on him.

These last two games have shown the value of Murillo. The loss of his presence and talent has seriously affected our ability to defend and to move forward. This is no particular criticism of Morato but, to me he is no better than Worrall or even Figuerido.

I like playing it quickly, and I like simple but maybe we need more than this?

All fair points. It seems to me that the more that Anderson has grown into being our focal point, the more Morgan drifts through games. Admittedly it’s a nice problem to have, but Anderson seems to drift over to the left to play close to Neco and whoever is on the wing, meaning Morgan doesn’t get much of the ball. I don’t think this is specifically a Dyche problem. It’s something that has been going on for a while. 

I have tried to give Morato the benefit of the doubt, but he’s really not up to the level. I agree that Jair or Abbott couldn’t do any worse. 

There’s a bit of a style clash going on currently. In the league we’re playing much more direct than in Europe due to the quality of opposition. The direct style serves us well against “bigger” sides, but against the likes of Everton and Wolves we create next to nothing. Hopefully the manager and players will learn from today
