Not really Pap. If we get to the Prem we will spend big and build a squad to compete. That is straight from the horses mouth.

Even though Sniff, at the moment we go into every home game thinking we can/should be winning it. Even if there is some serious spending done by the big man, we'll still be second best in 2 thirds of the games we play. I have very little enthusiasm going to watch Liverpool or Man City come to our place and trash us at a canter, and even less so if they do so with a 2nd string 11.

But you have to aspire to something Pap otherwise whats the point. I get what you are saying and the best we can realistically hope for in at least the medium term would be about Brighton/Palace sort of level, mid to lower table.
However after 22 seasons I am at least ready for a change of scene no matter what the results.

Yes, you're right of course Salv, there's no point if there's no ambition. I suppose all I'm doing is lamenting the unfair state of football in this country these days. Playing Arsenal and seeing their u23's beat us just reinforces that and also brings home just how far we have fallen down the pecking order. And watching the top 5 clubs playing their kids in the FA Cup up until the semi-final stage re-affirms how far ahead their rotten premier league has propelled them. Mid table prem clubs cant be arsed with the cup as they know they cant win it and a higher finish in the prem is worth more money to them. Championship clubs don't bother any more because their squads cant cope with the games. It's all wrong and it's all because of the lousy premier league.

The premiership has become a rigged deck.

But as Cooper has mentioned.  All you can do is recruit well, train well and get out onto the pitch with a winning mentality.

We'll need that to get out of the Championship and into and stay in the '1st Division.'

It would be nice to have a good run in the competition for once.

I suppose if we're going out of the competition we may as well go out with a few quid in our back pocket from the tv.

Shit time to go to a game though. 5.15 on a Sunday.

I'm not sure I can be bothered to go to be honest.

A repeat of the result of the last Sunday FA Cup tie vs. Arsenal would be nice.

Bugger!!! That's the Wifes Birthday.

It looks like she will be getting the Pandora Bracelet she has been carping on about after all and Ill cook her a slow roast beef in red wine gravy, that should make up for it.

And if you're not planning on going to the game, just make sure she's pissed up and out of it by 5.15pm.  :giggle:
