I’m possibly his biggest critic - so fair play.
Particularly like the anecdote surrounding Hughton’s meeting with Cloughie immediately after the semi final game at Villa Park.

i'm looking forward to hearing Chris Hughton's experiences and stories about back in the day, Forest, Cloughie, Pearce, Keane, Nigel and the merry men collectively must of made quite an impression on Chris, even as we stuttered into decline you could often count on a Spurs game to cheer us up

Also he was born in FOREST Gate, how cool is that and I have every confidence he will deliver (his father was a postman) and take us up (prior to football Chris was a lift engineer), there's experience and experience, you can't beat it, can't wait

A great player was Hughton. He played in most of those great Forest - Tottenham games in the 1980's.

There was a quote attributed to Lewis from the above article that I found interesting:

“He’s had great success in this league and it’s good to have a manager who has had success because you can believe in everything he is putting forward,”


Hopefully, the other players share Lewis's faith in the new manager but perhaps it also implies that the players were losing faith in Lamouchi's tactics. Confidence is everything in this game.

Valid point RR. At the start of last season, when we conceded, the lads would roll their sleeves up and go again, but towards the end of last season and also the last 5 games, the heads have dropped, albeit against Bristol, they did pull their sleeves up in the second half.

Just listened to Chris Hughton interview on NFFC tube, the guy is so relaxed, comfortable and gives a good interview.

I think the interviewers when they give long, rambling questions that end up being about 'confidence' or 'moral' are a waste of time, useless really

The interviewer asked something like 'Grabban, are you going to play him or drop him?' A bit blunt but Chris Hughton is so relaxed you can ask him anything, no need to tread on eggshells, and to be fair Chris Hughton gave a really good reply. In essence he said it is about what's best for the team, but also a player can be playing well, but not scoring, obviously CH is concerned but underlying confidence it will all come good and the decision as to who starts will be the right one.

The interviewer similiar short question about 'Grosiki is he coming here or deal off?' CH answered this difficult question well enough for me, though we don't know and obviously CH probably doesn't have a clue either but he was relaxed and said the Forest team are doing an exceptional job.

So basically if you anxious or hyper ventilating and stressed ... watch a Chris Hughton pre match interview
