Best not to get too low after a defeat and too high after a win. I'm realistic. We lost to a Boro team who were/are good but not brilliant. It could so easy have been a 0-0 but for one lapse in concentration. And the two wins were not teriffic wins, we were under pressure in those games from relatively poor sides. But we managed to get the wins by a combination of luck and decent quality.
I'm not expecting the side to suddenly string 3 or 4 more wins together and us be top 6 at Christmas. It's clear we've got issues. I believe CH has determined we're fairly sound defensively, he's now trying to work out how to get us to be more offensive. That'll take time but at least he has the players to try different things.

You may well be right - but why not THIS season?
Who knows what will happen - this season may well end up offering our best chance.

Just my personal opinion TPL.
I haven't given up on this season but if I had a gun put to my head and I had to choose between this season or next then I would choose next.

Like I said Sniff - you’re probably right.

We should just look for improvements. I’d imagine we will improve as more of our squad get up to speed - CH will also be able to work with some next week to see what shape the squad is really in. I’m surprised by arter not getting much game time but could be injury and I’d imagine he will play v England this week...

It is still possible, although starting on zero points after 4 games makes it harder.
So far we have 12 points in 7 CH games, which is 1.71 pts per game, which is usually enough for a playoff spot. But that is for 46 games not 42.
42x1.71 =71.82 which is actually more points than we got last season. But last season was the lowest 6th place total since 2012/13.
It's far to early to completely rule out making a claim for the playoffs, there are still lots of questions to be answered. CH has made a decent start, hopefully we can kick on.

Let us not forget that it is not just about us securing the points, we also have to be mindful that all of the other sides are going to drop points too, so as long as we don't do anything stupid, we can catch the rest up, no problem at all. We are only 12 points from the top spot and 7 off a play off place, so we still have everything to play for..................hows that for positivity?
