Praise indeed.  I've felt, for a while during this lost twice in 12 games run that Forest's football has become more progressive, tighter defensively and more incisive going forwards.  Generally, more robust.  Especially since the January signings which show Hughton knows what he's doing with the attacking signings building on Forest becoming more compact.

Blackburn Fans Pre Match Rambling, is it Easter?...

Well well well. My my my. Tweedle dum tweedle dee. What do I do about writing a preview for this match not at all very exciting match?

How about writing some twaddle for a change!! It will be on par with our recent performances. As I write this missive I am approaching another year older and I am feeling mightily p!ssed off.

The last year has been a write off:
- what does the inside of a pub look like?
- what is an aeroplane?
- will I ever need a Passport again?
- will I ever drive more than 20 miles per week?
- is Boris on drugs?
- how much does Boris pay his barber?
- will Rovers ever excite me again?
- is Sam Gallagher a footballer?
- is Ben Brereton really a mountain goat?
- does Dack’s girlfriend have rubber lips?
- is Tony Mowbray a football Manager?

Answers on a postcard to the above please. They are all questions that I struggle with every night as I toss and turn thinking of these big issues that face society.

I will now turn to the issue of Rovers visit to Nottingham on Saturday. I used to enjoy the trips to the City Ground, indeed I was only talking with Phil Jones a couple of weeks back telling him I was at his first team debut in a League Cup game (we won 1-0, yes miracles do happen!!) when he was alongside Samba who spent the whole game coaching him. He smiled and said he remembered it well. I asked Phil if he had thought about returning to Rovers and he cracked an incredulous smile on the basis of ‘are you joking’, he then responded to say sorry but “why would I do that”. I guess he was being kind by not adding “the Club is a basket case”.

So to the game itself.....

At present watching a Rovers game is like watching a Manager and players who are like rabbits in the headlights. They freeze, and the opposition just run them down.

As for Tony Mowbray if I were to continue with the rabbit analogy this is what he looks like on the touch line, or should I say sat in his seat looking on with astonishment

At the start of the season we were rampant. First time incisive passes, overlapping wing backs, a confident Adam Armstrong, and a midfield who would dominate, press and act as the engine room of our team. Now it looks as is the stuffing has been kicked out of the team. They are tired, devoid of ideas and lacking a Sergeant Major who will lead and direct. Even our goalkeeper Kaminsky looks like he has taken on the mantle of ‘flapper hands’.

I was talking to our very own superfan Blue Kate about recent games and she was well into the rabbit analogy. She was a big fan of both rampant Rovers as well as rampant rabbits.

I understand that Tony has brought in some new training techniques at Brockholes (to be renamed Rabbitholes) Training Centre. Stretches are key and the coaching staff are focused on how we can better penetrate rather than skipping around playing with the ball.

Some other images of Rovers players have recently appeared on the ‘Dark Web’. These include one of our £12m superstar signings Ben and Sam. They better beware as they could soon be gobbled up by our feisty very own ‘Rampant Kate’.

I would go as far as to suggest our season is over apart from trying to ensure we do not free-fall into the relegation places, this in my opinion is a real danger given the lack of motivation and togetherness in our squad. This is not just about results, it is also about maintaining our present fan base and also building our future fan base. Given the lack of balls in our recent performances, and some dreadful football I really do worry about the future. The only things keeping us going are the Venkys from a financial point of view, and blind hope from a fans point of view....either one or both of those will crack. Incidentally it is a fallacy that eating carrots will give help you deal with blind hope.

I have yet to decide whether to fork out £10 to watch this mush on Saturday. I may have something better to do like washing the car, buying new batteries for the rabbit or licking out the septic tank.

As for the score I will predict we will end up in the stew pot with a 3-0 defeat. I spoke with Kate and she was having a right good moan, indeed she did not stop for at least 5 minutes. She then whispered a few sweet nothings. She “loves her rabbit” and she “loves her Rovers” but sadly does not think Tony’s penetration techniques will result in us scoring; she predicts 2-0 to Snottingham.

I always hope for a Rovers win, alas, I’m not expecting one at Forest. As with our last three opponents, we could & should beat them. They are sitting 18th on the table, but I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see them catch up to us in a couple of weeks.

Things to get worse, before they get better, I’m afraid.

Cant wait to see the 11 Mowbray throws out on the pitch... Moe, Larry & Curly could be announced as forwards, and I wouldn’t be surprised.

Probably the first time I won’t pay this season.

It’ll be Andy Bayes for me then as he describes the match off an ifollow stream from a Blackburn studio.

What odd times we are living through...

The shame of it is, at their age Lyle Taylor & Lewis Grabban probably couldn’t make our 11, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see either player get the game-winner.

I’d like to see us get an early goal, scrap & hustle on defense, and see some energy going forward, in lieu of hoof ball and loads of backwards passes.

I would take Rovers losing tomorrow all day if I was certain it would result in the end of Mowbray. Losing 3 on the bounce followed by a lucky win is no good to anyone. For the long term health of our football club we have to be back in the Premier League, it's the only way we'll be able to rid ourselves of the current owners. The best shot of being back in the Premier League is having a manager in place until the end of the season to assess the squad and what they need for next year. It's quite simple.

Losing one single game won't make or break Mowbray. How about we win tomorrow instead, and then sack him?

Well there's f**k all chance of our owners ever sacking a manager on the back of a win.

Sometimes you need to be a little more pragmatic in search of long term success.

Anyway no point continuing to argue with someone who's contribution is one word in response to something they disagree with.

Forget about Barnsley, forget about the 3 game losing streak, forget about Nyambe contract situation... its all about Joe Lolley and getting one over Nottingham Forest after the last minute winner earlier in the season.  One game at a time.

Managers don't get sacked on the basis of one game. To think that is naive in the extreme. They generally get sacked because of results over a longer period of time.

I want Mowbray gone as much as the next man. But I'd like us to be in the best possible position for when the next man does comes in. Losing games doesn't give that.

Hard to care too much. A loss won’t see the end of Mowbray and a win won’t propel us to promotion but would strengthen his position.

Probably a draw with us salvaging it late on to cries of ‘this team are giving their all for the manager’

Funnily enough, Joe has a bit of a soft spot for Rovers. He used to post often on the Rovers 606 pages and another Rovers forum (no longer active) with a bunch of us around 2008-10. He was a regular in the match day threads and used to cheer us on, even though he's a Villa fan. It didn't stop the rascal from diving or scoring a winner against us though!

Would love for us to sign him. He has lost his starting place at Forest. Has a cracking left foot and can play on either wing. Forest would want too much for him though.

As for the game, I think we are going to pull off a surprise win tomorrow. We always seem to do that when things look bleak and the fans aren't expecting anything.

I started watching Rovers seriously as they slowly declined into the third division (first time around), watching a team steadily plummet until Ken Furphy arrived to give some positive direction.  Like a lot of football fans I took a sort of perverse pleasure in knowing I was still supporting the Rovers when nearly everyone else had turned their back on them.  I watched from the Riverside as a painfully small crowd watched us drop.

At the moment it feels like I'm back at having to feel the anguish again, hoping against hope that the corner will be turned.

So I will watch the Forest game, I want our team to win (I don't think the outcome will see the end of TM either way) and show a bit of quality.

Managers come and go, I've seen a heck of a lot leave Ewood, always after they had arrived in a fanfare of 'this is where the change starts'.  Who knows who will arrive next?  The only positive is it won't be Steve Kean.

At least we have a team to follow, I have mates who are Bury. 

1-1 tomorrow. We'll score in the last 10mins only to concede an equaliser 3 mins later.

As I said on another thread I have no interest in this game until the two muppets running this club take their final pay cheque. And the chicken chokers can do one too. I want the club I started watching in 1963 back. None of these BS excuses from a seriously misrun club

I expected us to lose at Barnsley, but had that faint gut feeling Mowbray would do the typical 'pull one out of the bag just as things look really bad' as many of you will have had too.

That feeling has totally gone for me. We have looked absolutely lost recently. I just can't see that changing in the space of a few days enough for us to put a real performance in.

With that said, the only way I see us picking points up in the immediate future is if the opposition turns up and has a bad day, an early red card or some other huge swing(s) of luck.

Forest looked unlucky to lose last time out against Swansea, I fear they will take the anger of that loss out on a flaccid Rovers side. 4-1 Forest.

I think tony will go for a 5.5.1 tommorow,he tried a back 3 at barnsley and it did`nt work,so i reckon he`ll figure that if we put 5 in defense it`s better than 3!

Hmmm. The Mowbray death spiral has been known to stop at 3 losses - although typically it goes on for a game or two longer (not to mention this time round it has a sniff of being terminal).

Unless they go down to 10 we won't be getting anything here. 2-1 loss for me - very similar to Wednesday.

Despite only having 1 shot, we'll beat them on box entries, so Mowbray is thrilled.

Forest seem to be in worse a state than us. They have also become a bit of a bogey team for us. Two things will happen, the cheat that is Joe Lolley will score again and we will lose! It’s a 4th defeat in a row.

Currently lower in the league table, but I would swap managers in a heartbeat. Hughton will get them sorted.

Not paying to watch it, don’t care about the result. Our seasons over.

Hughton knows you build your side on a 'defensive platform', unlike Billy Bullshit who is in charge of us. That attacking platform that Tony has built Rovers on has brought us 9 goals in the last 10 games. Billy Bullshit.

I'm going to try to watch it. I'm still behind Mowbray, but I've only managed to watch 2 games this season. A one sided victory against PNE and a rather frustrating 1-1 against Sheffield Wednesday. Maybe my view will change after watching a third game...

I've got 2 (separate) Forest mates, if I don't get any texts, I'll know it's ok

No real feelings for the game currently. Come 3pm tomorrow I'll probably get that buzz. We are certainly better than we are currently playing. I expect to see 5 at the back again, with elliot starting in place of Gally.
