Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager

I would've expected no different regardless of who the manager was. I get you have your reservations but can't you just accept the logic of sticking with a manager long term ,with a good CV. So you don't expect us to do well next year, you'll be pleasantly surprised if we do then!

Fans opinions matter, if we have a united front going into next season then he'll have more time. Sacking managers doesn't work unless you have parachute payments perhaps. Certainly hasn't worked for us.

Also, are you just going to ignore the massive mitigating circumstances of not having the 5 best players from the previous year?

The manager with similar win percentage was Megson. Now that was another manager who has two promotions to the premier league on his cv so we stuck with him cos surely he could turn it around ??

How did that work out?

I didn’t want Hughton in first place, as anyone who reads this forum can clearly see. Bad appointments by the club bad recruitment too.

But let’s stick with him cos seasons ago he got newcastle and Brighton promoted.

If only we had a manager who took every game seriously......Or any game come to that!

True

Too many fans making excuses and excepting mediocrity!

Yay. Finished 17th.

Realism is fine too or do you just expect the team to be amazing regardless?

I do not think it is realistic to expect a team that loses its 5 best players and then loses the first 4 games to suddenly put together promotion form personally?

Look I'm not saying we did well, but there are clearly mitigating circumstances. I think 12th would've been about where I would've expected to finish when CH took over so we weren't far away.

Just bumped the where will we finish poll Wassy. You say we should have finished around 12th, out of interest what did you vote for back in October?

Another pointless stat, you should really add a weighting for games that had absolutely no meaning.

the problem is scoring apparently has no meaning, we have to ignore all stats from this season, ignore everything, all that matters is few seasons ago, a guy who looked like our gaffer and by coincidence had the same name and even more statistically astounding the same date of birth, but knew how to win games got teams promoted.  statistically speaking haven't we got an imposter?

If Hughton had been doing his post match interview just now and ripped his face off Mission Impossible style to reveal he was really Gary Megson, would people still want to give him next season?

Playoff battle  :D :D

In fairness, that was before the injuries to Worrall/Grabban, they were pretty important.

Anyway, I said 12th after CH took over not pre-season where I thought Taylor and Arter were going to actually be decent players. So I feel like losing the first four games and changing manager. Seems reasonable to downgrade expectations, no?

Nope the poll I have just bumped was made in October after CH was appointed. Its fine if you say you predicted top 6 then, I said 10th myself, just accept we finished well below our expectations.

Haha whoops, well no harm in being positive. Probably does devalue what I was saying slightly. I guess we've got a lot more evidence of how average the team is now. I thought Knockaert would be good too.

Reading, QPR finished just outside playoffs, so it does show the level to get there isn't loads above really.

When Hughton was appointed the owners still expected a fight for top 6. Have no doubts about that.
