I remember the last time Forest had two strikers that could bang in the goals.
Johno and Harewood. I always thought having two strikers that could do that would give you a top six chance.
But you need a strong spine building from the back and a combative midfield. But you need pace in the LB/RB and winger positions and guile from ACM. Easy to say. But I think Karanka understands what is needed to get out this league. Experience. Robust but can play a bit. ...with some youthful energy.
Dawson is the kind of signing we've needed at the back for years. Watson the battle general. Now we need a genuine leader(s) up front with genuine quality. And Forest may have to pay the best part of 8 to ten million to get a couple of strikers that can put out gun the opposition.

Interesting read on Soudani who is willing to turn down 10mill(China) over 3 years and 7.5mill(Saudi) over 3 years for Forest's 3.5mill contract offer.
He it seems isn't a money grabber which is a great sign.

Hilal Soudani wants to move to Nottingham Forest in the Championship, according to Croatian media outlet Sportske Novosti.
The Algerian forward, who can play as a left winger or as a striker, is set to leave Dinamo Zagreb this summer after a spell full of trophies at the Croatian club.
Soudani has a £2,2m per year contract offered from Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli, as well as very lucrative financial offers from teams in China.
However, the 30-year-old from Chlef reportedly prefers a move to English football and wants Nottingham Forest and Dinamo Zagreb to come to an agreement.
Having won the League and Cup double this campaign, Soudani would bring a winning mentality to Aitor Karanka’s team. Forest also tried and failed to sign him in the January transfer window.
If he got his wish, Soudani would link up with fellow Algerian international Adlene Guedioura at Nottingham Forest. Soudani is currently with the national team and is a part of the squad that will face Portugal in a friendly on Thursday.
Soudani has won domestic trophies in Algeria, Portugal and Croatia and is certainly more than ready for a new challenge elsewhere. Only time will tell where his next destination is.

It sounds like Soudani has made his decision, he wants to join us.
A bit more haggling over the fee and I think we can expect to see him in Nottingham after the Algeria - Portugal game.

Given the names and nationalities of the players we may potentially have coming to us so far, the Algeria v Portugal game could turn out to be a Nottingham Forest training session :D

'SN' claim Nottingham Forest to come back w/ a 2m euro bid for Soudani (an amount they claim Dinamo Zagreb would accept). Soudani had an offer from China this week (3.2m euro transfer fee, salary of 4m euros / yr). Rejected. He wants England.
