Suspect EM will only make a change if he has someone already lined up.  Seems to have been the case largely thus far under him.

Talk of Chris Wilder, Steve Cooper and John Terry at the game in the week.  Obviously managers/coaches/staff takes games in a lot anyway.  But interesting to see so many.

Not much room for sentiment from managers to one another in the game now.

Interesting choice of names.  But without 'a little patience' they'll meet the same fate.  Wilder took several seasons to get Sheff Utd to the Premier.  And in the end, he met his fate with a change in owner.

The days of Clough being in place for two decades are over.  In fact, Clough wouldn't have survived under Mari'.  His brashness would have put Mari's nose out of join and the 1st season of his 2nd Division tenure for Forest would have seen him outside the top 6 and fired.

Steve Cooper did ok with Swansea.  Yes.  But they've had plan of succession and a philosophy for quite a while.  So it's much easier for a 'good' manager to come and have 'some degree' of success with Swansea.  He might not find it that easy at Forest when you're still waiting for players.

It's to do with getting off the field work to translate to on the field success.  We're quite aware of what's been put in place.  But without on the field patience, what's the point?

Wilder got Sheff Utd promoted to the Champ from L1 in his first season, a season in the champ where they were good and finished 10th in the first season back, and then promoted the next season.  I'd not say it took him several seasons.  

Yeah, Swansea have a philosophy, what it looks like we're trying to implement here, it has to start somewhere..

Cooper did a brilliant job with barely any money too.  Using his knowledge of young talent and contacts to get exceptional loans.  See: Guehi, Woodman, Brewster and Gallagher...

Mr Marinakis got the appointment of Hughton wrong. I for am am hoping he does not take too much longer to rectify it.

I think we have a lot of good things going on at the club right now, it's just not translated to the first team pitch yet. A modern thinking manager to get a bit more out of the young exciting talent could yet be the biggest appointment yet and could actually see us make some progress this year.

...and what appointment should Mari' have made?

I was hoping for a progressive offensive manager, i named them at the time, I think I have discussed that to death over the last 18 months to be fair, yes including whilst sabri was with us. We have been suffocated with utter boredom of defensive and pragmatic managers for some time. 

I have been blasted a few times on this very forum for wanting to be entertained at a football game. Who would of thought it hey?

I dont think you've been blasted for that tbh, more just that people are sick of sacking managers repeatedly. I've always said though if that's the pure reason for a change that's fair enough, I wanted Calvalhal. 

Keeping it on EM though as its the EM thread not the next manager thread  :D

Fair assessment mate, I was told on this forum football is not an entertainment business. 

It was kind of about EM as ultimately I was saying his next decision could prove his biggest yet. 

But yes I'd want him to go down the line of a modern approach of attacking with intent so we do see some good football back down the city ground soon.

True, not sure how much influence he'd have on hiring the managers. You'd assume he'd final say but that the CEO would do the groundwork/put together list of targets?

Isn't it usually EM who has the final say in a decision whether to keep or remove the manager though? I'm sure he will have been briefed by Murphy beforehand though

It’s sounds like us to me, could be totally wrong. What was also interesting was the al-jezeera program a few weeks back regarding how convicted criminals can buy football clubs. It’s was an undercover reporter supposedly trying to buy a football club and proved how easy it can be to pass the EFL’s fit and proper test.

The first 2 clubs the undercover reporter was offered was Derby and Forest. It was quite interesting.
