They'll waste these two weeks, we'll lose to Cardiff and Boro in the first week back after International break and then they'll sack him anyway, stick the mortgage on it :D

Get a few in by Tues. International break. Have the rest of our pre-season and the season starts from there?

Under Hughton we are worse than the sum of our parts. There are deficits in the squad but it is not the worse squad in the championship. Far from it. Yesterday we had a better overal 1 -11 than Derby and more strength on the bench but we’re grateful for snatching a late equaliser after being out played for long period. We were outplayed by Bournmouth under 23,s and Coventry. The latter are getting more than the sum of their parts because they have a more tactically adept manager who can also motivate his players. Hughton has over a full season and we have got significantly worse. Hughton is very inflexible in his approach and the championship has moved on since it last worked for him. No matter what players come in we will hardly improve until a different method is employed. EM and board please do what most fans know needs to be done.

He's signed one permanent player in a year. A goal keeper.
He had 1 fit outfield player brought in (a loan) for the 1st four games.
We (finally) got Garner in with game 5. It certainly helped. (Another loan.)
We drafted in a LB (we did? No, really...) in time for the subs bench in game 5.
We started the season weaker than we finished last season. Is that possible? (Dunno. We somehow managed to recruit ourselves backward from mediocre fullbacks to no fullbacks.)
We're still doing the same thing. Signing no strikers. It didn't work last year. Or the year before that. I hope Dane knows what he's doing for Tuesday's deadline.

See this is the problem for me, our squad have shown nothing to justify this claim. We have a statistically solid keeper, league one RB, CBs are good if fit (rarely been fit together), left back who knows. DCM one is decent, AM again proven at league one level. Few of our players have shown they're able to raise their level yet. Why does everyone think they have done? (Or they have proven since that they're no longer up to it)

That's what I thought when I saw the "sum of our parts" phrase.
Based on the available players so far - especially in the 4 losses, I'd go:
Out of form keeper
Very inexperienced RBs
No LB
1CB (since 1/2 time at Cov until Sat)
Rest exactly as you say.
Sheep's 1 to 11, thanks to football league bottle job, was actually OK at this point in time. Hopefully the pensioners they have at CB won't be able to last too long, but both much better than Figs and have 2 weeks rest now. But as much it pains me to say it, their back 4 has been solid by all accounts and Bird and Sibley certainly looked good enough at this level and Morrison hasn't imploded yet in MF As for Lawrence.....yes, he should be in jail but he ran us ragged first half.
Our squad has alot of potential and as you highlight, CBs are good, but one or other have been Injured for much of the last 12 months. If they play 40 games together this season we will be OK. If they play 8 or 10 games together, we could be in the sh1t. A bit like Cloughies final season when Wilson, Chet, Pearce were injured, our back 4 leaked like a seive and it impacts on the whole side - especially once 123 Yr old Gary Bannister replaced Teddy....
All that said, with 2 or 3 of the right signings, a return to form for Samba, both CBs staying fit and we could be on the right side of those fine margins that have cost us 4 defeats by the odd goal.

If you want to look at lessons from the past it was the above bit that killed us that season. Just had a check, I am sad like that, we let in 62 goals 5 teams were worse including Norwich who finished 3rd.
But Bannister and Big Bad Bob managed 41 goals, that was never enough.
I get your point about the overall balance of the team but until we have a decent striker with some pace and movement we are going to struggle IMO.

That is absolutely right. It put Forest where they are now. You can follow the line back to that.
When was the last time Forest bought a striker?

No more excuses for Chris now he simply must start delivering results starting with Cardiff.
Six more games until the next international break if there is no improvement then I would imagine he'll be gone.

Well, he does one one excuse left. The omission of a striker. Pretty much key to scoring goals in the Championship. And the one thing you need to climb a table with conviction or even get promoted.
For the rest of the team. He now has better players, (overall), at least on paper than he had last year. They're now 'his' players (a team effort with the recruitment 'Plan B' assembled...) and he now has actually permanent players to work with.
Recruitment has really addressed the keeper, back line (CH, Fullbacks), the middle line (CM, wingers, no.2) nearly comprehensively. With ten players in. Just missing that predator striker by a slither of 'bad back' luck.
However, that will still take a while to gel as Forest have churned out the other 14+ players and replaced them with some new players (better ones, on paper.). It better gel sharpish.
Any manager who loses 4, gets a draw, then loses 6 more will probably be sacked. Gone. Deceased. Voomed. 5000 volted. etc. Regardless of the mitigating factors that started the season and will linger until we flush it out with 'time.' Most precious of commodity.
The CEO will want to see progress on the pitch. As will Mari'.
It's a pity that 'bad' back striker didn't work out. We'll have to hope Silva can.
I'd say Hughton has sufficient tools now to mix up the formation, play the high line fullbacks, flood the midfield area (and in there now we have a wealth of attacking potency, Brennan, Garner, Zinc Man, Mighten, Oj, Silva.) to provide what strikers we do have with chances.
We do still have Grabban and Lyle. The above will provide much better service. And if we put it on a plate, they will score.
I think we have enough now to start picking up results. At least on paper.
It's a pity we hadn't done this earlier, last Summer. ie. Sabri out at the end of last season. New CEO. Recruitment early. Hughton installed. Pre-season. etc. We'd be further ahead. But we're in the now.
I wish Hughton and the team well.

Don't agree SA.
We have strikers. Taylor, Grabban and Silva to name three.
It's CH job to get at least one of them firing and scoring goals.
Yes it would have been nice to have had an even better one than what we already have but to suggest that we don't have any strikers is wrong. We do have some.
