I was just responding to GB, discussing Forest.

If you want more people to post then restricting debate about the main purpose of being here won’t entice anyone.

I for one don't want to click on a thread and read a discussion about something else entirely different.

Back to Grabban and Murphy...

They are both doing a very good job at the moment and scoring goals regularly.

As someone else mentioned above though, I am concerned if one of them picks up a seriouis injury.

We are a bit light in the striking department. Hopefully the Ansarifard saga will be concluded very soon.

Very good thread Mr. Garibaldi.

I agree both Grabban and Murphy have done well. Grabban had a slow start but is now starting to show his previous form. I have been pleasantly surprised by Murphy. Would like us to get another quality striker though in January.

Nailed on summary of Forest's Norwich malaise.

I just caught the highlights...and guess what?  Waltzing through Forest's midfield.

Grabban: 6,5
Grabban has finally started to score goals and has now scored 5 goals in the last 6 games which is quite impressive also taking into consideration he only started in 4 of those. That is pretty impressive. Even though Grabban is scoring goals his overall play has still some way to go before I'm fully satisfied. He's is running around and pressing hard for the team but in my opinion Grabban doesn't create enough chances on his own. He does have the ability but is yet to show it on a consistent level. It could all fall into place quite quickly as the guy must be brimming with confidence with almost 1 goal per game. Maybe a bit harsh to only give him 6,5 but overall in the games he has played that is what I'm prepared to give him.

Murphy: 7
I really like Murphy. I believe he has a lot to offer after he got his personal problems out of the way. He has 4 goals and 2 assists in 7 games (not counting the Blackburn game where he only played 4 minutes). He has more or less the same scoring ratio as Grabban (around 50%). I have rated Murphy above Grabban as I believe that he has done a better overall job than Grabban. His assist for Lolly's goal against Middelsbrough was very good as was his fantastic goal against Stoke. The old guy has still some pace left.

We are of course a bit thin in the striker area but hopefully Karim Ansarifard will get his work permit soon so he can finally become a Forest player. I believe this could prove to be a very good signing. He did very well at Olympiacos last season scoring 18 goals in 34 games. He also scored a fine penalty against Portugal in WC this summer. His value on Transfermarkt is 4m EUR which is a bit of a surprise as Forest will get him for free. Possibly a present from mr. Marinakis?

The big question is if we will sign a new striker in the January window. If we are in or around the play off places I believe there is a strong possibility of Karanka doing just that.

Fair assessment.  Kudos for the thread.  Positive discussion.

Agree about scoring Murphy higher and your comments there.

I wouldn't say no to a powerful striker with pace in Jan to augment the strike force.

...and a LB.  A keeper.  Another Geddy type player...because when Geddy doesn't play Forest don't seem to.

Peoples thoughts on Murphy and Grabban?

Very pleased with both player's contribution so far this season.

I would love to see a new quick and powerful striker arrive though in January.

When you look at the league games we've played well in for example Swansea sheff wed wba Boro and say bristol second half, I can honestly say we should have lost more than we currently have. I feel we have won as many as we deserve in balance. So the league doesn't lie, this is where we are as a team at the present. Things will get better over time, I'm hoping we see more consistency over performances. Because at the minute it wears me thin.

I’m pretty harsh on Pants but thought this was interesting.

Interesting stat but you could argue it shows up the worst defences, ie those allowing most goal scoring chances will probably show keepers with the most saves.
