I firmly believe that Yates would be able to take the step up and share the responsibility in the middle with Colback, Geddy, Yacob and maybe Tachtsidis. The difference between Watson and Yates is that Yates will run and press the opposition all day long and that is something Watson will never do. Youthful energy in abundance. Introducing Yates to the team gradually would be the perfect scenario in my mind but I'm afraid it will not happen.

And btw I fully support that Watson should go. Not that sure about Bridcutt but he's far down the list but he's apparently working hard in training according to comments from Karanka. I would have kept him if he wants to stay.

Watson was Karankas man, if Karanka has told him he can leave he must be 100% sure he can no longer play a part. I think everyone can see he's not up to the standard we are striving for. Surprised at Bridcutt I would keep him until the summer at least, however I wouldn't blame him for wanting to leave and find a team where he would play first team football.

Yates has pretty much gone backwards over the past three months.

Sometimes clubs have to look out for their players. Bridcutt has too much ability not to feature regulary. Watson probably feels he's of an age where he needs to be playing.
The club are probably looking out for both by suggesting their futures lie elsewhere.

I always thought Watson was a Luke Dowling signing - now left the club.

Must be mistaken then sorry, I thought he came in on loan before Dowling.

It's one thing having options but it's another thing the quality of the options (not having a dig at the current players). If Bridcutt and Watson leave in January then we need an enforcer/powerhouse 'dog' of a midfielder to come into the club.
COYR!

we have guediora yacob colback tachtsidis.
lets face it yacob and colback are superior to bridcutt. they played at higher level much more than him. for whatever reason karanka has never taken to bridcutt which is unfortunate for the lad. playing poor against burton then just gave karanka that extra excuse. if we could offload some players and bring in a couple of very good players we can push for the endline. being honest I wouldn't be surprised if goncalves went back in January.

Think it's the correct decision. Be very happy never to see Watson play for Forest again, and Bridcutt is way down the list. We are over stocked for holding midfielders.
