Watson & Bridcutt To Leave In January
#25
The right decision for me. Watson did a job when he first came in, but I think we have moved on this season, and he has visibly slowed down. Slightly disappointed if Bridcutt goes aswell, but he clearly isn't going to get a run in this side, so he should be allowed to move on.

In my opinion it's the correct decision ONLY if someone better arrives at the club.

If nobody better arrives in January and we let Bridcutt and Watson go then we may live to regret it later in the season.

Lets just imagine for one minute that Colback and Yacob both pick up injuries and Briductt and Watson have been sold without a top class replacement.

karanka may have no choice...maybe both want first team football and cant keep them happy.

how we could have done with a bridcutt for years , its unfortunate for him the timing.

Completely agree, he was arguably the best player on the pitch against Newcastle.

I haven’t seen enough of Yacob yet to be comfortable that he is a step up. He didn’t do anything special against Stoke. I also wonder why West Brom let him go.

Presuming Tachtsidis is up to scratch then I'd have no problem with this. Colback, Yacob, Guedi, Tachtsidis, Osborn and Yates is plenty.

Plus it leaves scope to bring in another CM without clogging up the squad further.

My opinion only but at a guess don't be surprised to see several shipped out.

We know about Brereton and now Watson & Bridcutt so if Kranky is now
clearing the decks then we can't be surprised if this little lot moves on in January................

Ben Osborn
Jorge Grant
Jamie Ward
Tyler Walker ?
Zach Clough
Jason Cummings ?
Apostolos Vellios

Yates will go out on loan!!!

That's a shift in seven to nine players if a clear out is on the cards and if Karanka is
to cut the squad size down then I can see 3 possibly 4 quality additions coming in.

We all know how he likes a good clear out!!! and we all know how he likes going
out buying!!! so be prepared.  :dodgy:

Red from the players listed .. Ward is gone already, Walker, Clough, Cummings and Velios are also away...AK said that at the moment he have a squad of 28 players and wants to bring it down to 22, I dont think that any of the players listed above form part of the 28.
My guess is that he will be shipping out two and bringing in one...so one for the price of two...
Smith will go out on loan (unless a super keeper comes in and even Steele is shipped out), Gonclavez may go too (now that there is no League Cup we will see him even less). Dont be surprised that even Dias will go, especially if a good winger is brought in. On the defence front the only changes I can see is, that Janko to go, especially if Dariwka continues in his good form and Bryan is recovered.
Apart from that I dont see much more `fat` to shed ...
Strikers we have just Grabban, now the Iranian and the mysterious Murphy (maybe he can go, if a better option is available). Soudani is still a mystery. He is spending more time on the treatment table than available to AK.
Apart from that ... I dont see much movement

Redderthanred, can we please call the manager by his proper name if it is not asking too much.

You are devaluing your own posts by referring to him as Kranky. His name is Aitor Karanka.

Glad it's not just me that thinks that Frochy. It's disrespectful and childish. This forum is better than that.

Gentlemen I agree.

I altered Kranky to Karanka in one thread the other day after I noticed that SR had mentioned it.

Then this morning I had to change it again in the first post of this thread and now I have to change it for a third time.

Redderthanred, can you please refer to our manager by his name please, Aitor Karanka. Thank you.

Why???

It's what I call him like many supporters I mix with - in the pub - at the match.

Can't see the problem - it's my nick-name for him so why does it upset you?

When the administrators tell me different then I might think about it - as far
as I'm concerned it is not offensive so - I have been called worse but I've
certainly not made such a fuss like yourself - tough if you don't like it!!!!
