Tough game this. Both teams focused on getting in the play offs so I suspect both might put out weaker teams, (our bench is strong but I imagine Carlos will be planning for the following game).
We stole a win at their place earlier and they will be up for this, head says a narrow defeat. Having said that we beat Fulham at theirs, so who knows...
Im sure its deliberate, but seems like a recipe for disaster putting the home fans in a tier above the away fans
Maybe im wrong and the Forest fans are a lovely bunch
I can see this game as a high tempo typical fa cup cracker, put out a strong team Carlos and have em.
Forest fans are a lovely bunch!!far from it they have some right k**b heads and are deluded just like ore friends down the road and the MASSIVE
Seem to live in the past a lot of Forest supporters.
I have a feeling this will go to penalties, more drama.
its got 0-0 extra time penalties written all over it.
Could say much the same for Forest. FA cup results aside they haven't been up against many really in form teams apart from Boro who they got beaten by in Dec though they did get 3 points away at Blackburn last month. The resuts of the 2 teams and respective quality of opposition has been fairly comparable since Dec really. It points toward a tight game on Monday. A Town win would be great but I won't be inconsolable if we lose, neither team is that likely to progress beyond the Liverpool game.
Twitter is awash with Forest fans playing warm up games now before they play Liverpool . No idea what they’ve been taking but it looks incredible
It’s not even about playing Liverpool for me.
It’s just shutting up those smug twats and preventing them from playing Liverpool.
These forest fans make me laugh, who do they think they are.
I hope they do take us lightly and absolutely batter em
Some smug comments on the Forest forums.. I don’t think they’ve forgiven us for sending them Diakhaby .. in my opinion one of the worst footballers ever to play for Huddersfield Town
Can't blame them really. Astonishingly poor footballer.
Beat Forest just to shut their gobby fans up then put the B team in v Liverpool as we've no chance v the world diving champions (is Tom Daley on the coaching staff there?)
Cooper has had several goes at promotion already at Swansea, arguably with a better squad, and failed both times. Why the hell do they think it’s going to be different this time?
On the LTLF Nottingham Forest forum we've been labelled 'Duddersfield'.
Is there any point us turning up tomorrow or should we just give the mighty Forest a bye so they can have the game they deserve v Liverpool without the hindrance of having to play Duddersfield first
Noticed that went I visited their site yesterday. At first I saw "Dude"ersfield (thinking it was someone trying to sound US American), but soon realised that this wasn't the case: Heard worse, but "Duddersfield" certainly isn't very complementary-sounding :-)
Wish they'd go bust.
I'm not overly bothered about getting through , more concerned with keeping the league form going . Assure the play offs , and then see if we can sneak second spot.
Want to win tomorrow more to shut up the smug , arrogant Forest fans who think they have a bye to the Q-F
I just messaged a Derby mate asking if there's something in the water in the Midlands wastelands as the Forest fans make them and Sheff Weds seem objective and generous. They certainly have far more than their fair share of weapons.
There was more respect from established PL teams that recognise us as a traditional club.
Keeping the decent run would be nice, also to shut the scabs gobs would be a bonus.
Carlos has already said that he plans to play Blackman instead of Nicholls. I'll be amazed if he plays anywhere near our strongest 11. I'm expecting him to play a starting 11 made up mainly of players who haven't started much lately, but with a very strong bench. Same as previous rounds. Saying that, our back ups are much stronger than we've had available previously, so it's hardly like putting a team of kids out.
I find it quite sad that opposition fans think all Forest supporters have the same Neanderthal mentality that is on display on LTLF forum

I never really understand this “Forest live in the past” thing. We reminisce about the glory years simply because there is a resigned acceptance that we have been shit for the last 25 years. I have honestly never met a Forest fan who claims we are too good or too big to be in the Championship.
They might have a point about some of us already looking forward to Liverpool before kicking a ball tonight though, a few think for some reason this is any easy win. Winnable yes but definitely not remotely easy.

Its no different to us calling Derby Direby or us being called Florist though Sniff.
I find it all a bit pathetic really

Huddersfield Fans 1st Half Comments.....,,
I really do hope Town put out the strongest team they can this evening.
I'm an old git and I've never seen Town in a cup final or semi. I've seen them it the Premier League, and that was great, but this is probably my last chance of success in the cup.
The chances of an automatic promotion are very limited indeed, but a play off position won't be jeopardised by putting out a strong team tonight.
Go for it, Carlos!
Surely there will be alot of changes in this one? I cant see him starting O'Brien and Thomas when we have 3 games in a week with the West Brom game being much more important then tonight's.
I'd love to win, but I'm really not fussed if we lose as long as we dont get a spankin live on council telly.
Team announced....
we're playing 5-5-0 then
we'll be stuffed..
On the face of it we are prioritising the league. I'm sure these lads will give 100% but that's not our best team. Obviously I don't know what our injuries are.
Hoping for the best, but it looks a tough task on paper.
Strange line up is that! Where's O'Brien?
Wont be a popular view but I am happy the manager sees Friday night as more important than tonight.
glad I haven't forked out my hard earned and trailed down to Nottingham having seen that team selection...it'll be over by half time...
Forest will be laughing there bollocks off at this team selection.
Had fish n chips with a pint in 'spoons, full of confident Forest fans. Now on the bus to Trent Bridge. They will be giving Holmes stick all night so hopefully fire him up, hes our main goal threat from open play looking at the starting lineup.
This is either going to be a tactical masterstroke or we’ll get blown away. But glad he’s prioritising the league. Surprised Forest have gone so strong.
Glad we are prioritising the league.
We only played 2 days ago for gods sake so why not make changes?
Coverage so far all about Forest !
No surprise there.
Let's thrash em and piss em off.
Watching ITV4. Thought we were playing tonight? So far I've just seen the inside of Steve Cooper's arsehole?
Brilliantly balanced TV coverage this. Been watching for 20 minutes and so far it's been Forest Forest Forest Forest and more fkin Forest!!
Pleased that twat Samba isn’t in goal for them.
The City Stadium? - lol!
Cooper is a right smug bar steward.
Good luck Town against the biggest side in world football.
According to the ITV coverage.
How tinpot having to have their song piped in
Just sing it
Here we go.....
we're giving away cheap posession. sloppy.
Dodgy keeper!!
Sarr is all over the place at the moment
Not convinced that's offside
f**k me the commentator loved that (wrongly) disallowed
Lucky escape. Didn't look offside at all.
Town need to get on the ball and keep it. Can't defend all night.
Set piece fc
Get in
Get in!
Forest will be absolutely livid!
YES. !
Take that Cooper.
Take that ITV.
ITV are f*****g gutted
Think they should check that headband for a great big ball magnet.
Keeps getting his head to the ball since he had it fitted.
Its a bit funny isn't it?
That will shut the bastards up.
Sorba's passing has been awful so far.
Going have to work harder at stopping these crosses coming in.
No way we're not conceding tonight
Keeper looks dodgy
Holmes should have tested him better.
Forest wankers booing for a head injury. Nice.
They have gone quiet at the moment!
Ruffles having a bit of a mare here.. poor passes, missed tackles now clattered sarr..
Forest are losing their heads here. Get stuck into them
Ruffles struggling on this side. I've lost count of the amount of times hes been rolled over.
I really f*****g detest their fans. I hope we absolutely stuff them.
Town are infront and are frustrating Forest, but we look really poor in possession. Need to sharpen up our passing.
Shocking defending.
and we're level.
Shit defending, straight through the middle
Defence parted like the Red Sea there. Poor goal to concede.
Need to up our game considerably.
The formation and tactics aren't working for me
Need to keep it together, not give them the momentum.
How's Sorba not scored that
f**k sake Sorba
jammy bastards.
How the fook did that stay out.
Cracking game so far!
Entertaining game but Town look ragged in and out of possession.
Holmes loses it in a dangerous position then gives away the free kick
Never a free kick.
Holmes is getting out muscled
f**k that 2-1
forest in front. shocking defending again.
There we go. Changes desperately required at half time. Forest comfortably on top.
Awful from Ruffels.
That’s shocking but the refs an absolute f*****g clown shoe, that’s never a free kick
Ruffels played them all onside. What’s he doing there?
Need to change something to get back into this. Town have been poor I'm afraid.
Defence looks very shaky, need to get to half time and re group.
This is not the huddersfield we know and infront of the f*****g world
Keeper looks very static, at least Samba is not playing, our time will come.
This looks exactly what it is, a team of reserves. It’s ok sliding one or two in every few games but not six together.
Pipa's been invisible apart from hitting the post
Is Eiting playing ?
He's playing better than Sinani
Really? What on earth can Sinani do when Forest have dominated the ball in our half?
Whoever was playing up top this half would have not done much.
Please change it at HT Corberan
To be fair it is very similar to the league match there. Difference being they've taken their chances
Carlos has f****d up with this defence and dreadful management
Get it changed now
Will you just f**k off to the far side of f**k - and when you get there, f**k off some more. You know three eighths of f**k all about anything football related, you just spam up threads with your knee-jerk bullshit.
To be fair to the defence the men in the middle are like ghosts. There's not one of them showing for the ball.
We got Bacuna in goal? What's that hair do all about
Bloody hell, is it his hair? I thought he was wearing a hat.
HT 2-1
Creating our own problems, Sarr and Ruffles against Johnson and spence is just such a mismatch. Ruffles for their 2nd goal is ridiculous. Did he miss the memo?
Sinani is far too soft.
We have hurt them….Thomas has been a decent outlet.
Too many below par performances. Let’s not panic though.
People defending Sinani he's been f*****g poor for a while now and the odd good goal doesn't make up for the total lack of involvement in most games he's weak as piss and gives it away far too often. Really hope we don't sign him permanently.
Lots of criticism for individuals, but let's be honest, this has been a poor team performance. Has anyone in a Town shirt played well?
The only good things about that half are that we're not 3-1 down and, even though we've been pretty poor, Forest are far from secure themselves.
We need changes and a massive improvement all over the pitch to turn this around though.
How would having Rhodes up on his own sort anything. He was bloody awful in that role when we won there in the league.
Dodgy defending for both goals, Ruffels looks well shaky, can we get a 2nd goal in 2nd half and take it to pens?
Jeeez reading the last 3 pages it's clear there's going to be a lot of toys to pick up off a lot of floors and put back in a lot of prams
Hasnt Carlos got the brains to see that we would have pissed this match with our first choice team.
Dreadful management has i cannot see us winning this with poor quality defenders like sarr and some of the others half asleep
Get it changed now to give all those travelling fans value for their hard earned money
OH and the 18 unbeaten run seems to mean nothing
Wow. I'm in Cape Verde watching this game on my phone because they don't show it here so been inable to comment. Think I was watching a different game to most. Yep Notts Forest are the better side no doubt, but this is a cup team that arseholed Leicester and beat Arsenal.
We have done okay. It hasn't gone according to plan but our reserves against their first team have given it a good go.
It will be a different story second half, I think we will win 3-2. Ward and then Rhodes to win it.
Forest are an attacking good team, if we were full strength they would be on the back foot.
Forest, with their tinpot attitude, just want to play the bin dippers. At least we've risked making 6 changes, which shows what is important to us. Anyhow, there is only 1 goal in it. We know we can can turn games around.
Massive love in for Forest on itv4..why don't they all wear red shirts
School boy error by ruffels for the second. Their first goal was class.
And we're lucky they were disallowed a goal as it clearly onside.
Sarr and Ruffels dont seem to go well together and i'am surprised Thomas isn't rested. I didn't even know eiting was even playing....
Looking at the team sheet it seems it is our reserve side and to be fair I didn't expect us to go balls out for this game. Given the choice I would much rather we get a result in our next league game.
This is the 5th round of the F A Cup for f***s sake with a money spinning tie V Liverpool .
Carlos is treating it like a nothing game
Some of the moaning on here is embarrassing. A couple of names appearing from the woodwork that haven't posted since 27th November. This is not the priority. We can play Liverpool twice next season if we get promoted. Bore off
Forest don’t seem anything special tonight. Pretty physical and the atmosphere is spurring them on but a few much needed changes for town and we can be right back in this
We have hit the post and have our reserves out. We have the best bench I have seen in years. We will not lose.
Every season there's that one team that just seem to have your number. This season it's Forest. They were better than our first team despite our win and they're certainly better than our second string tonight. They're just a good team and we can't deal with their high press.
We are doing ok. We can bring on 5 subs. Oh, and Forest are a decent team too and are playing well - especially down their right hand side
Real penalty vibe for me tonight
The coverage here is a disgrace. The problem with us getting national coverage is the amount of condescending shit we have to listen to. We appear to be sat 2nd in the league and uneaten in 18 because we’re ‘compact’ and a ‘threat from set pieces’. They way they are eulogising about Forest you’d think they were f*****g Man City
no changes at half time. concentrating on the league.
Despite what people think,it's been a poor performance, we look slow and ponderous and aside from the goal and Pipa hitting the post which Sorba should have certainly buried we haven't been in it, we look really poor in possession.

Huddersfield Fans 2nd Half Comments.......
Such a poor 1st touch by Thomas. Good from Sinani.
Back to 4-3-3. Good. Get Thomas on the right where he's far better.
Does anyone else think it's mental that Middlesbrough & Sheff U have loaned players to a direct promotion rival in Spence & Lowe?
How many times is Holmes going to get robbed of possession
Too many Town players being dispossessed after holding onto the ball for too long.
We've got to improve in possession.
What's wrong with Holmes. He looks a second or two behind everyone
That is far more of a foul than the free kick they scored from.
If that was Kane in Prem it would be a penalty. Defender hit his hip.
If that was Forest it probably would have.
Get Holmes off the field ASAP
Its not happening tonight
Rhodes coming on?
Holmes is crap.
Last time I said that he scored from 18 yards.
Blackman looks like a nervous wreck whenever he gets near the ball.
Hope this comes and bites me but no point in putting Rhodes on.
Its midfield that needs changing.
Subs haven't changed the flow of the game. We need control in midfield. I'd like to see Russell on to give us some much needed composure in the middle of the park.
in with a chance now with ward and rhodes on
Good effort from Ward.
Forest just sitting and lumping long balls. Town have a chance to put them under pressure here.
How the hell is that a foul on the keeper?
There’s a goal coming here town cmon
ha ha ha ha
Should have sealed it there
Commentator cums in his pants every time they get a chance
Should have been game over.
I feel sorry for whoever's job it is to dab the wet patches off the seats in ITV studio every time Forest are on the front foot
Why won't Pipa take a player on?
Lost his confidence.
Some good pressure. Forest have been pretty average and would have been there for the taking with our first team
How the f**k was that handball dearie me!!
Their fans really are utter wankers.
2 gobbers they've missed
We have played really well the last 10mins or so especially. Roll on Friday, and beating Bournemouth on 19th. Far more important.
This is not the huddersfield i have been watching this season
Don't get me wrong I'd love a tie against the scousers . But no complaints tonight
Forest miss another chance. They've been average, but could/should have buried us tonight.
would have pissed this with fridays team
Don't talk bollocks
oh dear. that throw in.
That team selection was absolutely bonkers. If I was Rhodes I'd be asking what the f**k is going on
Pipa has been really disappointing tonight. That foul throw sums up his game.
This one stings a bit. Mainly because I feel we would have turned them over if we just had Ward up front, Nicholls in goal and maybe Russells in the centre. If we win on Friday then it will be worth it. If not, then this will be a disappointing waste of a potential quarter final.
As I type this, pipa does that. What the f**k was that
It's honestly been a great match if you're a neutral. I've seen Town play much worse this season.
Oh well, getting on with the league.
Can't see Forest getting past Liverpool.
Right, that’s that.
On to Friday with no distractions.
Result 2-1

Huddersfield The Aftermath......
Shame. Tactics wrong, too many changes. Good to see CC change it but was too late.
It worries me that this will ruin the momentum we had built up.
I do not feel apieved, Liverpool will smash em, on to the league.
One of them you’d like to win but plenty of positives by not winning it as well. Forest more fixtures to rearrange and by the looks and sounds of it a real lot of emotion being used by them in the cup. We can have our game against liverpool next year
Entertaining game, did well without O’Brien and Russell. Best of luck to Forest against Liverpool, hopefully they can get past them too.
Now everything into the league and see if we can chase down second spot!
Congratulations Forest. You have won the chance to get owned next round. More important game Friday. Set up to lose with that team selection from the get go. Naby Sarr not good enough. Too many passengers in the middle of the park. No strikers on the pitch from the getgo, and we leave it too late to bring them on.
Get what you deserve and tonight we deserved nowt.
Unbeaten run gone with a whimper.
Onto Friday and a much more important fixture.
The commentators wet dream continues it would seem.
Only managed to watch the last half an hour, were they equally as bad the first 60 mins?
Well I'd rather have lost this one, than a match in the league.
Many fringe players given a run out, and we only lost by a single goal, still competitive. Now we can focus on the league and ensure we get into the playoffs.
Yes we lot, but it's not the end of the world.
Credit to Forest though, they took their goals and won
Forest deserved it. Their system was not altered drastically. Spence had Ruffels on toast and he was always available to free pressure.
Poor team selection by Town, though I have constantly been a Corberan supporter, and we can't tell how many changes were enforced by injury (and Convid).
Not overly bothered to be honest At least we have been spared the mauling they will get from Liverpool
f**k of Forrest. f**k off Liverpool. f**k off arse licking ITV.
Got what we deserved
I think Forest were even better in the game we managed to win
Anybody else quite pleased that we don't have to play Liverpool next round?
Agreed. Let Forest have their trip down memory lane, their cup final. Let’s see if we can try and get to an ACTUAL final, then see where we go from there…
You won, Forest. Enjoy the quarter final, I hope it makes you happy. Dear lord, what a sad little life Forest
Thought it was very strange how desperate they were to win that and mad celebrations afterwards. 6 changes resting key players told the world our intentions. They are sitting 9th with an awful run in and have just added a pummelling by Liverpool to that hectic schedule. Fair enough and good for them if that’s what they want. As for us, no distractions now, just get those playoffs.
Can't read too much into that. Forrest wanted to progress more then we did.
They've beaten Leicester and Arsenal and got to the quarter finals. I'd be bloody happy and hope we'd have celebrated the same way had we won.
We gave a decent account of ourselves, especially with so many imbalances in the team.
You can put one or two changes up against a team like Forrest but we were never going to beat them with 6!
We would've pissed all over them with our first 11 but hey ho, West Brom is much more important.
Forest have beat 2 teams who have Won the top league 3 times in a row, can they make it a hatrick?.
No complaints from me - they had a good goal disallowed but it was never a free-kick for their second goal.
Carlos clearly picked the team with league as number one priority - personally I’d have preferred a 6th round cup tie but no problem with his decision in that regard.
Thought the score line was fair, the ref was good and didn’t respond to some ridiculous stuff from crowd and Forest players regarding Pearson.
That Forest win has knackered them up, they have their last 10 games in a 5 week period, Fulham away in all that, with us losing we have 7.
Hope Liverpool smash em and end up with nothing.
We could be having the last laugh.
Fans of these self proclaimed massive clubs call us tin pot but you don't get more tin pot than Forest after that showing. 'Mull of Kintyre' - Jesus wept what's all that about? Could they have picked a worse song to adopt? I'm so glad we don't have one, Stoke's Delilah is another pointless one as well. I'm sure there are plenty of others. And then at some point their announcer said 'The City Ground, the world famous City Ground'. Really? Deluded or what, I was embarrassed hearing that as a Town fan never mind a Forest one. And then the fireworks. Tin pottery at its best.
Playing Liverpool in the cup is the biggest day Forest supporters have had in over twenty years. I hope they enjoy there day and can't wait for an even bigger firework show on the telly.
Big club my arse.
To be fair to the forest fans , they've just beaten a team on a massive unbeaten run , a team ten points and seven places above them in the league.
They're entitled to a bit of tinpottery , including fireworks , half and half scarves and tinfoil covered FA cups made of cardboard.
We underestimated them as a mid table championship team , and we paid the price.. Good luck Forest
Maybe we just need to get used to more of the clubs at this level having supporters with a sense of entitlement?
It seems like Forest are added to a growing list of clubs we now dislike?
Or it could simply be the tribalistic nature of football supporters?
We did do a smash and grab on them in the league, but that’s football. If you don’t take your chances and defend poorly you’ll end up with zero points in the game. It was a late show against the Blades as well.
Forest and ourselves will be there or thereabouts come May. If we end up playing each other again this season the game/games will be quite different to the 3 games played already this season.
Another thing which was so sad and tinpottery was the blasting out over the tannoy music right up until the kickoff, it actually stops the atmosphere as it was pointless singing, and putting cheering sound through tannoy at end. Oh my god the ultimate in tin pot . Forest I now know as TINpotingham forest, on a similar level to the twats from Hillsboro doing their version of tinpotery with the mobile phone lights. ( like going to a cheesy music gig of someone shit like steps).

For a bunch of fans that repeatedly say how much they don't care, they sure sound bitter and angry with us for winning.
The better team won against 12 men.
Had nothing against them before, but their fans' comments has put them high up on the dislike list.

Still laughing at the udders player who took the throw in about 2 yards onto the pitch.
