The fact that Steve Cooper wouldn't let his player's walk down the tunnel together with the Sheffield United player's and staff at half time tells you everything. Cooper deliberately kept his player's on the pitch until the tunnel had cleared.

We came out on top. At one stage around the 80 minute mark I looked to the skies and said a prayer. Cloughie must have had a word because what followed was freakish. The save in the last minute was out of this world, the players galvanised and gave as good as they got in extra time. At penalties the first two saves were almost Devine intervention - especially the second.
BTW have a read of DT latest article in the Athletic. Made a grown man cry…

I have watched this game numerous times since Tuesday night when I was so consumed with the atmosphere I hardly noticed what was going on. Sheffield Utd were exceptionally good, especially Nidaye and Gibbs White up front. In addition to the two goals they also missed some very good chances and we scored from the only one we created. To be honest we were a little bit lucky not to have got well beaten in the 90 minutes. Nevertheless I think we were due a bit of luck in the play offs and let’s hope it stays with us on Sunday. Parachute payments really do make the championship unfair. It is so difficult to break into the cartel and that might be the greatest benefit of winning on Sunday. We have done unbelievably well to put ourselves in this position. Sheffield Utd will know they have missed their best chance of returning to the premier league. They will have incrementally less money and will probably have to sell one of their best assets. Do people think that if we win on Sunday that Nidaye would be a useful transfer target.

Now having had time to reflect I think that is a fair comment.

Sheffield United Football Club is disappointed to learn that Rhian Brewster and Oli McBurnie have been charged following the incidents that took place at the EFL Championship play-off semi-final second leg against Nottingham Forest last month.
