Aitor Karanka is the best thing that has happened to this football club for years.
I 100% trust him and I am 100% sure that IF we stick with him he will take us back to where we all want to be. The turnaround since we last played Preston has been remarkable.

Karanka has confirmed he's fine now after a few days, however stating it wasn't personal. Then what was it???

new DoF maybe ? Loosing some remit ?
That's what i was thinking. I would hope that because we are on a roll and improving those up top would not medal in team affairs but this along with Holloway's comments doesn't have me nervous but i am watch the situation more closely.
Just a quick side note it does say that he will be involved with giving advise on squad selection.

I don't think it's the new DOF. Although he is called a DOF I don't think he will be involved with team affairs and signing players etc. His job is to make sure that everybody is happy and that everybody has what they need/want etc (players and staff personal needs not the team). Marinakis was been In England this week and has met with several people and cleared the air with Karanka. I don't think there is any issue.

Basically whatever you want or whatever you need come to me and I will get it for you. For example: We need some new gym machines at the training centre, no problem I will get them. I need help moving house, no problem I will sort it out for you. We need a different hotel for the away match at Noriwch to what we stayed in last year. No problem I will find another one. Etc etc. In my honest opinion and from what I have seen and heard at Olympiakos he WON'T be sticking his nose into Karanka's work, he will help him though with all the essential things that the players, staff and the club in genral needs, he is the person to go to if you get my drift!

Just sounds to me like a very safe ‘pair of hands’...

Surely the timing must give us some confidence. Karanka is doing well. The team is playing well. Karanka has probably never been more popular with fans. Team appear to be happy and playing well together.
Now is not the time to bring in someone to disrupt the current set-up. I can only imagine that when Marinakis was last meeting staff and player (in Oct) that there were areas highlighted for improvement. I know nothing, so I'm just guessing. |
