We have been in every match we’ve played-I can’t recall losing by more than 1 goal all season. That’s progress. However the last 2 home games worry me.

The Ipswich thing worry`s me slightly - think it was mentioned on another thread ( the post match interview ). In respect to comparison to last year thought it would be a bigger difference in terms of points however I remember we did start strong under the breadmaker but dipped off significantly Nov/Dec. Feels like we were just getting into our stride Nov / Dec before our defense needed completely changing. January always tough in the market but we should be able to attract easier given we are competitive. Still some clearing out needed and sounds like already working on it. A good result Wednesday away from home changes everything in terms of mood.

I think it's fair to say that there is a bit of a stink coming out of the City Ground at the minute.
Hopefully whatever it is it will all blow over and quick.

48 league games, long goal droughts, 25 million plus spent, 20 plus players, cup games including that Burton Albion game
he looks like he has everything clicking and happening and it all falls apart I knew I wouldn't really enjoy Karankerism, I just knew, I don't know why but I haven't really enjoyed it and he hasn't given 1 decent interview yet ok ok ok I didn't get the rose coloured spectacles for Xmas ok, that's it I would definitely give that ex Fulham bloke a go, he could get the lucky bounce and get a tune out of this squad and would get some decent players in I'm saying change because we are into non sentimental pure promotion at any cost philosophy, 25 signings and 25 million a year huge bloated squads and loads of loans isn't really what I am into, I try every week to get into it, please Santa I need Rose Coloured spectacles desperately

You flip flop all the time, it’s tiresome.

I feel the same sometimes, we all try and keep the faith but it’s a bloody hard slog sometimes. Have to say pre Xmas you said we would be 10th by the New Year, I thought you were being negative, hats off looks like you were right.

This is a thread about the manager though.
It’s evident that we’re still short on quality. The statistics back the fact up that prior today our league position didn’t reflect our performances. I think the manager has been surprised by how poor some of the signings have turned out to be. Watson is a prime example, Goncalves another, Dias, Guedioura, Ansifarard, Steele, Hefele. I’m pretty sure none of them have played to the level expected, not just by the manager but the fans too. It’s one of the reasons Osborn gets picked as much as he does, because there is a guarantee de minimus when it comes to performance and effort levels. It seems to me that the biggest criticism of Aitor is value for money. I wonder if he had much say in the price paid for Carvalho, or even if we should sign him at all. The squad is a top ten squad. We still need to move three or four on in January and ensure that any incoming players are an upgrade on what we have. To me that means we could bring someone in there to play in any position. However it’s evident that we still have gaps and weaknesses, particularly goalkeeper, left back, centre half, right wing, left wing, a number ten and another centre forward. That’s seven players to be considered a serious top two contender.

Carvalho was very good today. Problems all stemmed from Dias. Anyone having a go at OSBORN need to see Dias contribution at a really key point of the game. Janko was also poor and Lolley was also knackered. Grabban should never have come off and Watson or Guedioura should have come on or both. up to 70 minutes we were brilliant to be honest so what came next was so dissapointing yet predictable. Special mention to Jacob who was very good.
