Another defeat.. sigh.. some positives after that 2nd half showing.. created a number of good chances to be fair to them..
Expected to get smashed but did well.. Annoyed at our set piece defending though.. absolute criminal at times

Well we lost but performance wise, I thought that was as competitive an away game as we've had this season. Never expected anything but we demonstrated a little more intent than most away matches and made it competitive. With a bit of luck we could have grabbed a third and I did not think I would be saying that at 4 pm

I don’t want to dwell on this but do we want festa to do a job for us? Next two games Leeds and Everton…
That means we have to get points…

Freuler was at fault for 2 of them. Arguably our best away performance - Awonyi being an out ball and much better ball retention. Hit the bar for 3-3 and a couple of other chances - we were unlucky but only ourselves to blame with the set piece defending

I thought we played really really well. Commitment, desire and a never give up attitude. Well done Forest.
Positives:
- Scored 2 away from home. - Game plan might (but might not) keep the Cooper detractors quiet on his tactical acumen for a few days. - Showed real fight. - Defensively sound in open play. - Taiwo really improved hold up play (credit to the lad and coaching staff for this). - Worrall looked good again. - Sounded like a home game for long spells. - Niakhate throws. Negatives: - No points - Set piece defending. Another blunder header. - 2nd bottom. - Another injury. - Scoring 2 away from home should mean a point. Very frustrating, especially the 2nd and 3rd we gifted by switching off/ heading towards own goal. Good performance crap result....

Cooper sounded really down. McKenna - collar bone broken.

We lost as expected but the performance gives us something to build from. Its the most positive defeat of the season.

Loved Awoniyi up front today. It was such a refreshing change from the focal point being an ineffective Johnson. Would love to see Cooper get Awoniyi in that role with Johnson being effective around him.
And for thr first time this season we got some luck in a game. Two deflected goals. Wow, the football gods must have turned.
Also, how nice was it to see some of our players causing trouble in the opposition's box in an away game? Cooper needs to stick with this now. I've always been an advocate of playing a big hard centre forward. This no striker approach from Cooper leaves me stone cold.

Good performance......... I think the tactics were correct.....for too long Johnson being in the side has meant a weak midfield...........today the tactics were correct...........strong middle and bring Johnson on at the end.
Finally.........Cooper worked it out and finally we had a decent away performance. Piss poor defending........but at least we were in with a chance. 8 out of 10 for effort today. |
