1. The average time for a manager to gain promotion from The Championship is 686.5 days.

Karanka is not even half way into this. It takes time to build for promotion. Changing the manager restarts this clock.

2. 42 managers have won promotion from The Championship (modern); 37/42 have had at least 1 full campaign (88.1%).

Changing manager in The Championship mid-season damages the chance of promotion in that campaign.

3. The last 9 full time managers at Forest (not including Karanka) have not been given a full campaign.

This instability coincides with our poorest spell of results.

Regularly changing manager has not improved results.

4. The last time a Forest manager was allowed either a full campaign, or the average time needed for promotion (686.5 days), Forest finished in the play-offs.

We have not done so since.

Playing Devils advocate as I personally don't want to get rid of Karanka but.....

If you have the opportunity to upgrade on a player you take it but why wouldn't you do the same upgrade with a manager i.e Jardim over Karanka.

Obviously this is upgrade "on paper" talk and assuming the new manager hits the ground running. Jardim has been talked about taking over some of the biggest teams in the world

What did Karanka know about the Championship at Boro? Or Jokanovic at Watford? Or Wagner at Huddersfield? Or Farke at Norwich?

How long has it taken Farke to get Norwich to where they are?

Huddersfield got promoted on something like a -1 goal difference?

Did Jokanovic get Watford promoted?

Not saying we shouldn't. Just making the point that the 'What does manager x know about the Championship' argument doesn't always stand up.

Here’s what any prospective manager needs to know about the Championship:

1. It’s a bloody hard league, and anyone can beat anyone.
2. Games come thick and fast and you’re expected to win every one of them.
3. There’s usually 18 odd teams that want promotion at any point if the season.
4. Don’t rely on the referees to make the correct decision.
5. Sky tv messes up your schedule.
