Looking around the City on Google maps there are a few possibilities, none of the straightforward.
1. Nottm College/Council workshop area opp Hooters over the canal.
2. Broadmarsh ( if take down the old car park/Ocean nightclub block of buildings
3. Sneinton bus depot opp Ice Stadium.
4. between Glasshouse st and Huntingdon St. (oh mist rolling in from Viccy flats)

The thought of having to head out to M1 every game is depressing.

Eastcroft? That'd probably be big enough if they could flatten everyhting but there's a lot of businesses on there that'd need relocating, including the incinerator. Plus we'd be even closer to Meadow Lane.

The ideal spot was the Eastside development the other side of the train line, between the BBC building & Manvers St but that has now been sold off and building has started.

I don't think Holme Pierrpoint is suitable for a Stadium, however they did look at building a new training ground up that way.

Anything beyond Wilford on the A453 is too far out of town for me, so Ratcliffe would be a massive no. However it wouldn't surprise me if they looked that way for a new traning ground.

The old soap factory site on Wilkinson Street (across the road from the tram depot) would be a good site but I think it's been allocated for housing by the council (it may actually have planning permission for housing, not sure). Trams are already there on the doorstep and a new railway platform could be built on the rail line that runs right past it. Be a bitch to park the car up around there though.

If we're going to stay in the city, its the kind of site we're going to be looking at. It's vacant and it's possibly been contaminated by it's previous industrial use so possibly uneconomical to develop for housing. These kind of large sites within the city simply don't exist. Eastcroft would be ideal but I'm not sure if the land which is owned by the council is large enough. And anyway the City council, in its current predicament, would need to obtain full market value for the land if they sold it to Marinakis anyway so I doubt he'd want to deal with them.
