I hope so but would have serious concerns. I know MON is an excellent man motivator but the main gripe with Irish and Sunderland fans was that he doesn't really do tactics or analyse the opposition. 

Matt Doherty stated in an interview that they were basically sent out with no formation or instructions whatsoever and had to make it up themselves. The likes of Warnock and Wilder may play a direct style of football but they are also tactically very good. We will have to wait and see.

It's obvious that Doherty has a gripe with O'Neill about something.

Martin O'Neill is an extremely educated man.

The thought that he would send out a team with no formation or instructions is an insult to the man and frankly laughable.

Folk overcomplicate things. Sadly the ROI player pool is so small MON had to chose from players so dull they can't think on their own feet a bit.

MON is one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. I mean off the scale. My mate used to play centre half under him at the dippers and in his words "4 at the back was the same as 3 at the back & 5 at the back to me, I just moved around a bit". There's no need to get complicated.

Take a look at Wilder at Sheff U. No tactical masterclasses, just a bunch of solid lads, some with some genuine Sheff connections such as Sharpe, all playing for each other, hunting in packs, and on the lash down Sheff after every win. Worked miracles with a squad half the value of mosts, sat 2nd in the league.

It's a load of folk who've never been near the real game trying to impose Championship Manager standards on it. In reality a lot of the stuff folk thinks matters doesn't.
MON is ideal to get us out this league.

Aye.  Fuzzy duck.  Duck fuzzy.

If Italy's main man couldn't do it...what were people expecting of Martin (who walked on water to do what he did...)

And that augers well for Forest.  If he can get a mediocre Ireland team to perform as well as it did...then that shows that Martin knows how to get the best out of what he has.

...and they'll be more than suited to roughing up the Premier to ensure survive.  The 1st thing is just to get there.

Yup. It also makes me chuckle that he's slated for "only" keeping Sunderland up, and apparently did a poor job there because when he left them they were "only" just outside of the relegation zone when they sacked him.
