No surprises there and don’t think he’d be the only one either.

Martin O'Neill, not sure how anyone can doubt he is the most awesome choice especially for this club
Won everything as a player He did the grass routes management with Wycombe and turned us down, maybe that's not a good thing but I think it is, he was successful and loyal to Wycombe and doesn't go anywhere, however impressive looking unless he feels it will work, he must have funds and backing Celtic he won everything going Villa 6th 3 seasons on the trot, broke goal scoring records as well, just about remember him resigning before the start of I guess the 4th season Leicester, promotion to PL, League Cup Republic of Ireland he did have success, think he beat Belgium and Italy and qualified for Euros? Did ok at Sunderland I see him as a wise, calm, supportive, thoroughly decent sort of guy and no doubt he can tell it how it is Really hoping Roy Keane comes along failing that ………. Stuart Pearce or Robbo or someone but really ideally for me Roy Keane

The club have pulled a master stroke here haven’t they, when did we last bemoan the treatment of AK who left less than a week ago.
Some will say it’s a cynical ploy to appease the fans, well if it is it’s worked. However I don’t think it is. Like others at the beginning I was a bit dubious, another ex player like Pearce, only this time it’s different. We all knew Pearce was an average manager, who most of us supported just because let’s face it Stuart Pearce! Psycho! Wasn’t long before some (shame on them) turned against him. Martin O’Neill however is managerial in a different league. Leicester, Villa, Celtic even ROI his experience and achievements are there to see. He will, by the fans at least, be given time, not because of who he is but because of what he has achieved. I’m fully on board like of a lot of us can’t wait to see who comes with him. Is Forest finally going to go full circle and one of the men who got us at the top last time about to get us up there again.

This is all down to the board & owner now. If they back MON with time & money he'll take us up I've no doubt.
Someone mentioned he may only be here until season end, with Jokanavic taking over then. I really hope not, because MON is perfectly capable of taking us up given said time & backing. I mean, it didn't happen overnight for Jokanavic at Fulham
obviously our board have a much better relationship with ex players now. particularly the likes of Robbo which may have played a part here. all ex players are welcome and given 2 free tickets for any game of their choosing.
Fawaz allegedly didnt know Burns when he met him. |
