Our current site is flood zone 3 too!

Yes ,but if you stick a planning application in on a site such as that, for a new building, you have a hell of a problem with the environment agency.

I think no matter what we want to do or where we want to do it there will always be obstacles.

We need to overcome them.

The point I'm making is that the city council may own some land which they are prepared to sell to the club but there are other external factors which restrict development.  On that particular piece of land there are houses located closeby and it's in the flood plane. There's also one road into the area and one road out. Yes, I know that the current stadium has similar issues but the difference is is that that currently exists, it's not being planned from scratch.

The tram also runs very close to the site, so that has to be a positive. 

If I was to have any concerns, it would be the Council would be seen to be throwing away green spaces within the city limits and that is never a good thing. There would have to be some very strong suggestions for alternative sites for new football pitches etc.

I would support this though if it were to become a reality

You can’t get rid of designated sports pitches, it’s something we had to jig about when we looked at expanding the academy buildings, unless we could provided them else where close by

If you think logically there is no way Forest can redevelop the City Ground. You cannot lose the revenue from trying to develop it while the seasons are ongoing and stay in the Premier League with the new PSR rules.

So forget it. Its not going to happen.

Forest need to build a new stadium whilst still using the old one until the new one is completed.

They will build a brand new "Sporting and Leisure" Arena somewhere to generate significant non-match day revenues.

Its purely a case of "where" now.

Out of interest, how many people does each tram carry?

Bearing in mind we are talking about 50k fans leaving the ground and there is simply a limitation on capacity with the tram routing.

Bearing in mind we are talking about 50k fans leaving the ground and there is simply a limitation on capacity with the tram routing.

Not sure what the capacity is, but they can run as frequently as every 8-10 minutes if required. They do carry far more than a bus does and they havent been exactly bad over the years 

Not all of the 50K will be travelling in on a tram either.

My view still hasn’t changed that this has been the plan all along; but the changing PSR rules have focused minds on expanding revenue. 

The posturing has tipped the scales Forest’s way to get the bigger footprint they need for a 45000+ CG.

Or so I hope.

There is also those sports fields and clubs to the east of the CG. Get them to move to Toton Sports Village too and there is a nice piece of land to build a brand spanking new stadium while keeping the CG going until the build is complete.
