What the heck has politics got to do with this?
Cartledge couldn’t wait to build his sports village in Toton but Im pretty sure if we were interested we could strike a deal for the same land with the current government. Thankfully it seems we are stying put. No reason EM can’t invest in other sporting facilities around the city if he wants to, Im sure he would be welcomed.

Only point I was making was whether had the tories stayed in we would have seen massive regeneration of the Toton site and not just the football ground using government money? Just a thought that’s all

The Toton area could be regenerated whoever is in power. Maybe EM still has plans on building a new training ground there, he could tag on a netball arena or other facility too.

This isn’t an attempt to restart a debate that got a little heated at times, however looking at new Everton stadium it does look mighty impressive and I do feel we are doing things the hard way by just part renovating the CG.
The difference for me is that Everton have left a really poor and run down location to move to a really good one by the river and close to the City Centre. Our option would have been the other way around, moving from a great location to one miles from anywhere.
Its just I look at what Everton will have and I do think we are miles behind.
I don’t have an easy answer and I can see both sides of the argument.

The ideal - a shiny brand new stadium in the current location - probably isn't possible.

I’ve seen various suggestions ranging from 40k to 55k
