Such bitterness from a number of Man U fans on the BBC comments pages, who don't seem to realise the difference between dominating possession and deserving to win. Yeah they hit the bar. Yes Murillo cleared that one off the line but other than that Sels didn't have a difficult save to make. And all this after they'd had a two week break and we'd played 120 minutes plus penalties on Saturday night. And we were without our top scorer, one of our main attacking threats and lost one of our key defenders midway through the first half.

The grit and determination to hold onto that win was off the scale.

I've just watched the highlights again. 

Fernandes had a free header in the first half he should've done better with. We conceded a couple of chances from corners. Maguire had that late chance from the scramble and Murillo cleared. Other than that we restricted them to long shots which we either blocked or closed down quickly. People clearly don't understand the difference between dominating possession and controlling matches. I can remember one save only from Sels - the one which led to their corner which we then scored from.

The other factor is that we scored very early, meaning that we reverted to our game plan to see out the game after Ola’s injury and allowing United shots from poor areas. Garnacho had several low quality shots that inflate the statistics. In many ways it was the perfect Nuno game plan. Giving the opposition the ball is part of our system, we’re effective without it and our whole team will scrap and fight to deny clear chances. People are just unhappy that we don’t roll over anymore

It was definitely a tiring performance, So Three Points and a Clean Sheet is brilliant. We probably didn't get the control we wanted but can't complain.

I think i'd have to agree with TNT analysis, some of the United possession was food and sharp but it died off when they got to the final 3rd. Bruno is the only creative player and he was dangerous but you can be an excellent woodsman and have a blunt axe.
