The club needs to get ot sorted & get it settled.

This is a bit off the topic but still relevant and I wonder if one of you knows the answer?

The signing of Assombalonga and Antonio was funded by the sale of Lascelles and Darlow to Newcastle with both of those players loaned back to Forest for the season. Both of them of course went on to be sold for a major profit, you do wonder with the right circumstances and lack of injuries to Reid et al we could have been serious challengers with the squad we had that season.

So on the face of it Assombalonga and Antonio was a stonkingly good deal but who on earth set it up? Pearce denied all knowledge, claimed Lascelles and Darlow were sold behind his back, furious when interviewed on TV that night and seemingly knew nothing of the incomings, it wasnt him.
Was it Fawaz, a bloke who I dont credit with the intelligence to brush his own teeth? I think we know the answer to that. But someone somewhere at the club organised it so who? Do they still work with Forest? Why dont we work with them more if they can pull off deals like that?

Billy already knew half the squad from his time here before, Dougie was lined up for weeks & had time to assess & prep for when he arrived.

When Cotts was sacked I was one of those who suggested SOD for the same reason. He's already spent half a year with the squad.

If the change is done in the right way you at least give yourself a chance of a bounce. But our lack of planning is right up there in the Fawaz realms.

I’m proud of our academy and would much rather walker and Worrall as options in the squad than some of the crap we have bought in.

It's why in the olden days it wasn't unusual to see an assistant manager, or coach replace his boss, upon retirement or upon him leaving. Liverpool selected theirs from the boot room, where the coaching staff would sit, drink tea and discuss the team, tactics and ways of defeating the next opposing side.

The concept of stability & succession is not a new one, in fact it's an old one that to many have forgotten.

Yes, or scouted & wanted at least. I can't remember the exact timescales

Spot on mate. All this bull about "DOF & structures", having the right people in the right positions is all we need, structure should be set to acomodate that not the other way around (especially when we're so insistant on changing the upstairs staff so much)

I really don't get this year why we chose to play the likes of Dias & Ansfartypants instead of Appilad & Yates.

I wish whoever keeps bogging down the squad with these sub-standard, unfit, injury prone imports would stop.

I think most of us are in agreement that Pearce wasn’t the answer managerial wise ( even though he is my all time favourite player) but he could spot a good player, I remember Wednesday fans laughing when we bought Antonio, I know Britt was a target for a lot of clubs and I was over the moon when we landed him.

Just wish SP would come back to the club in a DOF type capacity, I know we would benefit from his experience/ contacts.

NFFC is a huge club and cannot be run using the staff of another club.

NFFC needs it's own full time staff to run smoothly and properly in my opinion.

And here too. This is the biggest doubt I have about the new owners. All their connections with Greece have done so far is water our club down

They've got a lot to offer, expertise and professionalism to bring.

However, they need to preserve the culture of Forest of the past, present and future.  We're not Olympiacos 'lite.'

If they can send admins to help pad our backroom staff out until the 'local' English expertise can be brought in...and bring players along for accounting purposes or because they can help our club.  Fine.

We got to give 'em credit for those attendances at the City Ground.  A potential record breaking 'full house' run of 5 full 'sold out' City Grounds is on the cards.

That didn't happen by accident.

Like I said, when the backroom staff is settled then the events on the pitch will settle too.

That will take time.

With each passing day I keep hearing things which make me distrust the current ownership more & more.

The one thing the current ownership needs to start doing is communicating with fans, and comminicating with them honestly.
