Evangelos Marinakis And Co
The issue with our recruitment is we sign 10 - 12 players every summer, which is a ridiculous amount of players. Signing that many players does not give them the opportunity to play week in week out and no wonder they never settle. Look at Cunha for example, quality player that was never given an opportunity to play until now

We should target a maximum 3 - 4 quality players that can improve out first 11 and a couple of young players for the future. Not only that but get the players in as soon as possible so they can understand the way we play and integrate with the other players. Nuno was spot on regarding bring in players earlier

Cunha not playing ahead of Morato looks a pretty questionable decision right now. Both for helping his development but also just that he looks a better defender outright.

Sal, I agree Edu and the rest of the recruitment team are indeed culpable but who is the ultimate decision maker here Edu or as I suspect EM? as ultimatley he signs the cheques.

Ultimately EM does say yes to sign players BUT he requires the information from the recruitment team to make an informed decision. So when a lot of people say EM is to blame for everything it just isn't true because he has staff to advise him on what course to take.

And his lead adviser is……..Edu.

To add to that, you wonder what really goes on. When EM was about to appoint Ange did Edu say “you know what Evangelos, I reckon thats a disaster with the current squad” same goes for when Dyche was appointed. Then again his alternative was supposedly Mancini who any sane person would say is an even bigger disaster. Did EM just ignore the advice and do it anyway?

Again I think you are very much aligned with my thinking on this Sal, as I also think Edu has had no real imput to date and is now the scapegoat for all Forest's ills. Come the Summer a massive shake up is required in all areas of the club, also EM just HAS to trust those persons put in place and also let them get on with it. For his own and our collective sanity hope he gets this right, but not holding my breath!

I wont miss Edu one bit. He deserves the sack, he's been a shambles. He's single handedly been responsible for us losing the most successful manager we've had for 20/30 years, he prepared the squad for a dual Prem/Europa challenge by buying young players with 'perceived' potential or others that have never played in the prem, when what was really required were hardened & experienced players who could just slot in as and when required. The net result is that we're potentially going to get relegated and we're unlikely to win the Europa. And for that privilege EM has forked out £200m. In what other industry does this guy not get sacked? We can blame coaches coming and going all we want but what's happened since Edu's been here has been an utter disgrace.

It looks to me like Dyche wanted pro's in in January, who had a proven track record of performing in the prem, like Dunk, Matteta and Strand Larson. We ended up with the Italian lump who'd failed at his last club and who this latest coach has quickly realised is utter garbage. That tells it all.

Pretty sure that Dyche okayed the Lucca signing Pap.

Matteta injured as we all know and Larsson too expensive.

Plus Dyche wanted to replace Murillo with Dunk.

Enough said.

But did Dyche accept Lucca because it was him or nothing? And Mattetta was injured, yes, but the fact we thought we might get a player of his stature, and we were linked with Dunk, suggests Dyche was advising that these sorts of players were required. Im not pro Dyche at all now having seen his work close up but I agree with him about getting in prem experience, if that was the case. We needed proven players for now, not some unspecified time in the future when a young, or an out of form player, would come good.
