OK - accepted that I know little of FFP across Europe - but that dwarfs the riches and allowable losses on offer in the Prem. Also I will be very interested with the EFL ruling on BCFC coming up. I am re-assured that the new owners have a handle of FFP and have some creative ways around it.
The biggest area that has suffered for us and where we are way behind is a proper player recruitment strategy. Brentford do a fabulous job in this area - so have Norwich and numerous successful medium-small clubs we should be on a par with. We are rightly proud of our academy but with our somewhat scatter-gun recruitment recently, this has suffered.  Leeds focus on youth development has shown it can be done. Maybe Karanka is to blame for this.

Spending on the Academy is excluded from any FFP expenditure as I recall, so a successful academy would be a good way to improve us given those constraints - either by bringing in youngsters at zero FFP cost, or selling on prospects if the club don’t want to play them in the first team. (Or maybe even something more creative on ascribing costs to it?)

I would also be happy to see Karembeu take a FULL Time position at our club.

If Karembeu moves to Nottingham it will upset the Olympiakos fans a lot. They really love him.
I think Mr. Marinakis needs to think very very carefully about that.

I am very pleased generally speaking with our owners so far.

However I would like to see them change their stance on one thing and that is player recruitment.

We need a proper recruitment system in place and a scouting team.

No more Mendes type signings and relying on agents and people at Olympiakos. That system has failed.

I think they're doing an OK job and restructuring the club's none-playing core steadily enough, but the only comminication we've had from them in their time here have been broken promises, and they've turned our club into a vehincle for agents & below par foreign based players to leech off.

The club appears to be in a constant state of flux in one way or another, with DOF's coming & going, managers given little time with unrealistic expectations, and a plethora of players moving in & out in some bizare "throw as much shinola and see what stick" modus operandi.

Not saying we can't do well with them, nor do I want them gone per say, but I just don't like them or how they've operated so far in regards to football matters.

I also don't like our ties to Olympiakos, nor the fact that ultimately we'll always play second fiddle in the owner's eyes to them.

A lot hangs on MON, how they back him, and how they go from here.

It is simply not true.

Hopefully not. I am speculating on that point, so here's hoping I'm wrong. I think I'm a bit disillusioned by how we've shared so many staff and seem to still be making the same decisions as we were in the Fawaz era.

Looking forward I'm hoping the recent changes & summer start really provides us an awesome fuondation to push on from.
