Why do they want that, its the patch next to it where the old petrol station was where they want the club shop?

If however Lindleys are being nobs, I take my car to them and they will lose a customer.

If City Ground expansion is contingent upon the football club building a new bridge across the Trent, Maranakis needs to knock it on the head and seek another location brand new location where he can build a stadium which will generate the revenue we will need to compete in the premier league.

Why?

Because the new financial regulations restrict how much you can spend to a fixed percentage of a clubs income. Without a much bigger capacity and massively improved hospitality Forest will not be able to compete in the premier league. Nearly all premier league clubs have either fairly recently moved to much bigger stadiums or enlarging capacity at existing stadiums and upgrading hospitality facilities. Hence Forest plans to upgrade the City Ground to potentially 52,500 capacity and improved facilities. A direction to build a new bridge  over the River Trent before any expansion scuppers that at least in the foreseeable future. It will entail further planning permission, purchasing suitable plots of land, formulating building plans and significant expenditure. In the meantime our competitors get on with developing their stadiums, maximising income as Forest fall behind. It is more than possible that objectors to City Ground expansion know that this direction by the planning authority scuppers the plans for an expanded City Ground. Who knows. Alternatively Forest could find a new site to build the stadium they need to compete in the premier league, which does not have the complications and objections expanding the City Ground has generated. As i say asking the club to build a new river trent crossing probably stops the expansion from ever happening. We need the increased income from a bigger stadium and we are not going to get that at the City Ground. So that is why.

Let's go to Toton and build a 100,000-seat super stadium and complain when we only fill 50,000. Drink in corporate chain bars serving Bud and ecking street food. Then spend 3 hours waiting to get onto the M1 or onto a tram. No thanks.

The council should build the new footbridge if it wants a world class sports quarter. The positioning of the recent bridge is questionable. If they can foot the bill for that then they should foot the bill for this - or rather the record tax should. Whatever happened to regeneration funds for the north? I bet Man U get more help with local infrastructure for their redevelopment from their council!

Presumably, for a private individual or company to build a bridge, they'd have to own the land on each bank, meaning the club might have to make further land purchases. Is that even possible? Does suitable land exist on the other side of the river? If were Marinakis I'd be banking this planning permission and then going back to the city council to renegotiate the price for buying out the lease for the City Ground land, which apparently is all agreed, subject to planning. Nottm City is milking EM here. The guy wants to spend half a billion pounds locally and now they want a f*****g bridge on top.

Pap latest projected development costs including the rebuild of BC stand are put at £1.5 billion and rising!
