I think thats the game where AK decided he couldnt even rely on that set of players to keep the club from being relegated, never mind get promoted.

When you compare AK to warbs now they're in completely different leagues.  AK's a winner and has a winning mentality.  Warbs is a builder who's sole ambition was to slowly grow the club in the hope it would come good eventually.

Agreed.  The trust was broken after the Preston game.  The team looked shot of confidence.  The pretenders were thrown under the bus and drastic action was taken to get the influx of players in to maintain Championship status.  Without that action, I believe Forest would have been relegated.

Give Karanka the tools and he'll get you promoted or pretty darn close.

It looks as though there will not be a single player who started the first game of last season who is going to start the first game of this season.

One thing that tells me is our s**t Warburtons signings were.

Do you fancy a small wager that there will be at least one who started the first game last season, Sniffer?

Most of last seasons starters have either left or been frozen out so there are very few qualifiers; but everyone is assuming that all of the newcomers will fit straight in.

That kind of scenario very rarely happens, if at all; some of the new players, particularly the ones moving countries will need time to settle in, both with the team and their new living environment; that seldom happens in a linear fashion.

We need to bear in mind that Karanka is also quite profligate in the transfer market; well he certainly has been in the past.

During his first three years at Boro he signed the following number of players:

1st (half season) 2 perms and 6 loans

2nd 8 perm and 9 loans

3rd 7 perm and 9 loans

That is a bug churn of players.

As tempting as it will be to start with a shed load of newcomers, I reckon he will err on the side of caution; if he goes for broke from game 1 he has nowhere to turn to if things go wrong.

Have not had a season ticket for about 3 years now and this year I lost my job so a season ticket is out of the question right now for me...with he travel costs and all.
Hopefully I can get work sorted quickly.
This is the year that you would want to be a season ticket holder...1850 sold...bloody hell should have sold the entire ground...must be mad to not be ther this season

The big difference this season is we will have so many different weapons on the pitch

Previously we have had 1/2 top players that other teams knew if they stopped them, they had cracked us.

Now we will have the top 4 on the pitch that start who are all equally capable, after 70 mins we can bring the other 3 on !

Like the sound of that, and yep it's spot on.

I dont remember a time since Collymore, Roy, Bohinen, Stone when we had so many options.

He is building one that should be capable of holding its own in the prem.
