Think he'll still contribute enough to make it a worthwhile freebie. Not necc a great signing, but definitely a sensible one

Really!

Who would have thought that McGoldrick and Madine would have turned Sheffield United into promotion candidates?

This /\  Mcgoldrick was a revelation for them, especially in the run in. Lolly wasn't exactly lauded when he signed for not alot either.

Sometimes a player just fits. We built our Euro success on a patchwork of nobodies, no marks, nomads and misfits. If O'neill sees something he can bring to the table who am I to argue?

If he’s decent he’ll go to Olympiacos in January for £3M.
Win win!!

exactly, though i think he will be a great player, probably better than McGoldrick and if it takes as long to sign the next player we'll have talked him upto legendary status hall of fame, better than Messi

I'm going to be very interested to keep an eye on this topic come the end of the season. Bolton fans are declaring we are already missing them and can bear to be more than division apart (quite funny joke that they expect a double relegation after points deduction). I don't mind us signing unknowns or players with potential but i am not a happy fan and i will be P!$$ed off then we go out and sign players who are below what we have and consistency show they are not of a level required. My opinion is we will either not see much of Sammy this season or we will be wanting Diaz back.

I will do the decent thing and reserve judgement on Ameobi until he has played a few games for us. If Mon can get his head right and fill him with confidence then we might have a bargain on our hands.

Hes certainly talented, and one of the best man managers out there. Let's hope so.

clean slate at a better club but comments like this worry me about ameobi

"No cardio no end product and no bottle"
"he's a good player but is so inconsistent"
" He never seems fully fit by the second half, often carries the ball too long and loses it. I agree with previous comment he is far from consistent"

I thought the best one about Sammy from Bolton fans was

"Do you think Notts Forest would swap us Diaz for SA. Both headless chickens but at least he can cross some of the time"

Love the Post's final statement on about Sammy

"Ameobi doesn’t really have the skill set to push Forest forward and will more than likely turn out to be nothing more than a squad player."

If they can't find positives to brown nose the manager then you know it's not a good signing.

Nothing there that some good coaching from 2 great wingers like MON and Guppy cannot put right. I think MoN and Guppy know a thing or two about wing play. They can obviously see something in Ameobi.
