Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager

So likely 3 Portuguese signings and I would hazard a guess the majority of any more we bring in will be europeans too.

The thought occurs that there was more to MON and RK leaving than player power and their training methods, I suspect disagreement on transfer policy played a pretty major part. Somehow I think they would have been less on board with the way we seem to be going.

Who’s right? No idea. We have tried the known Championship/ex prem route and it hasnt worked. We’ve tried the european way too but we hope this time that there has been a bit more homework done than  watching a youtube video of Dimitriu.

What I am fairly confident of is that wherever we end up finishing we will have enjoyed watching Lamouchi’s football more than we would have if we had stuck with MON and unveiled James Mclean as the star signing.

I think disagreements over transfers was the prime reason for mon's sacking too.

As for who id prefer to see, i want to see the team win. I hated Warburtons tippy tappy lets pass it around in or own half football. I was as boring as hell.

Warburton's team was dull as dishwater imo. Everyone kept saying it was 'good' football because the ball was passed about in our own half, but it was completely ineffective in the attacking third.

I thought AK was building something. He'd been backed by the club in his ruthless turnover of players and we were playing what I considered to be a sophisticated type of football. During the early part of last season we were looking strong and I could sense something was building. Then something went wrong internally, maybe in AK's head, who knows?.

Mon's football was basic, but I do believe it would have evolved this season. I'm really disappointed at lack of respect shown to him. It was shabby and Fawazesque in nature. 


Best of luck to this new guy. He's going to have to be pretty special if he's going to achieve anything.

I'm not sure about that. I think concerns around style were important in the relationship between the City Ground crowd and O'Neill. Objectively, O'Neil won a greater share of his matches than either Karanka or Warburton or any full-time manager since Billy.

Was that enough for a large slice of fans?

From my perspective, I want to see a winning team (obviously) that at least attempts (at the appropriate point in *every* game) to play a progressive style, without too much overt gamesmanship.

It's a bonus if the first team has ex-youth system players. But this isn't close to as important as the above.

Warburton’s loss percentage was 50% and we shipped 2 goals a game all th way through his tenure. The football was naive and he was deservedly sacked. The football under Karanka had us near the play off spots and was much better to watch.

People have said Lamouchi prefers a strong defence and fast passing football. Hope so.

Switches between 442 and 451, low possession so relatively direct, lets the attackers run with it, tight defence. Those stats sound awfully similar to our last manager...

4:5:1 when not in possession soon translates into 4:2:3:1 & so can be misleading.

Bloody hell.
Nobody on here is in ‘happy clappy’ territory as you put it - but every time I read one of your posts I want to slash my wrists.
Let’s just wait for the window to play out & watch the games for a couple of months before we start to pass judgement.
