Silva>Carvalho
Carva's proving to be the worst purchase we've ever made. He's a player you build a squad round, and we don't have the squad or management style to do that. A 13m paperweight who's fee could have bought us Mcginn, Grosicki, Collins, Olivera, and still had money left to spare. If we can get anything upward of 8m back for him I'd cash in and buy the players needed to finish the squad off now (such as some of those listed above). Next year we'll prob have to replace Daws, poss Grabs, and other teams will be after Cash + Worral etc. We need to take our opportunity now. Building for the future is fine if done right, but putting everything on hold to try and make a failed 13m investment work is not the way to do it. 4 league goals, 9 assists in all his time here. Grosicki has 13 goals, 15 assists in the same time period. Club has backed the wrong horse and , unless it's prepared to invest heavily in quality players of a similar age to Carva so that in a year or two we have a team built around him, it should seriously look at what we can trade Carva for.

Silva was really being thumped yesterday but kept going. Got bundled over once and one badly misplaced pass but he is improving and deserves his place now.
He's doing alot more than carvalho . Some nice forward passing yesterday that others can't do .

It's not like the new Coach hasn't played him. He's been injured of course, Car'. Let's hope that can seize his chance to shine like Yates did yesterday coming back from injury. Talent he has. But has Car' got that 'will to win' in a Forest shirt? The question lingers. Ergo the contentious debate surrounding him on this forum. And many others, I'd vouch. Recruitment last Summer was very unbalanced. This Summer was a realisation of the penny dropping re: recruiting for the Championship. Players for the here and now. With the younger players generally coming from the Academy in Yates, Cash, Worrall and Brennan. More depth, more power, more strength, more skill more energy. Not perfect but it felt like a proper step in the right direction like. Part Deux of a three year plan? Forest feel much more like a top 6 club. The only question is whether we can be a top 2 one. And we're only 3 points off top. Perhaps a january transfer window can answer the last few questions posed by the defeats to Wigan and Hull. SA.

Yes silva is becoming class. Carvalho we all want to succeed but hes too lightweight for the champ. Could a 352 accommodate him? Benfica had our pants down with him, but more bad on our recruitment.

alot of portuguese fans claimed goncalves was better than carvalho when they first joined.
goncalves is getting no game time either back home since he went back.

I just don't see where he fits in with our system, we don't play with a proper number 10 and that is what Carvalho is in my opinion. I don't doubt that the lad has got ability and he would probably flourish at another club who play to his strengths.
Panic on the streets of Croydon, Derby, Sheffield, Leicestershire.

I think it's been demonstrated now that Silva and Carvalho cant play in the same team, it's just too lightweight. And as Silva begins to get a grip of the league, I cant see Carvalho getting much game. Sabri's tried him on the right and he made no impact, so I really cant see how he can expect to be picked now, especially as Yates is back and is a player who has impressed every single manager he's ever played under. Maybe if a new striker arrives in Jan, Sabri can try a different system which can accommodate Carvalho too. I dunno. Carv has the ability to be excellent, but I cant see Sabri changing things around just to accommodate him, when things are going pretty well anyway.

I agree with the two posts above. Where does he fit in?
He doesn't.

If we enter into a Pearce type ultra slump then maybe Sabri might mix things up and give him more game in the hope he can come good and change a few results but at the moment he's been given a chance and not taken it. Such a waste of an abundance of talent.
