Are Preston and Leeds really any better than us? I am not convinced.
They're probaly no better than us at present but in terms of progress from last year, Preston have been impressive. They put in an decent performance against us when the came to Nottingham. They could continue to be sucessful if they stay clear of injures and suspensions to key players.
Leeds seem to be treading water somewhat and I suspect they have another gear yet. Jan & Feb will sort the men from the boys. I just hope we can hang on in there and put Leeds and West Brom under a bit of pressure.

Agree. I don't know much about PNE, but they looked decent against us and also on TV at Charlton. I think they had a few injuries when they came to us. Not to be discounted.

I think we have as good of a shot as anybody in reaching the play off's but it's so tight. Maybe because i've not looked at the top teams as closely before but has it ever been this tight between the teams after a third of the season?
I do expect to see Leeds and Fulham go up a few gears now and with teams like WBA and Preston still there and playing consistence i'm not sure about our top two chances.
There is 30 points available before the window opens and only if you can stay close to the top will new players really have in impact in the business end. I think it is not the signings we make that will determine our season it is the squad we have over the festive period.

WBA and Fulham have squads way above Championship standard. WBA also have a top class manager, and it would be a huge surprise if they don’t win the league, especially as they will be able to significantly strengthen in January. Leeds were a force last season and again this. They should be up there.
We just need to keep on hanging in there.

As you say not only to WBA and Fulham have pots of money to strengthen, the fact they are challenging at the top makes them attractive for prem loanees etc looking to reignite their careers like Gayle or ambitious players in general.
For that reason we need to hang in there ourselves and be around the top 6 if we want to attract some decent quality.

Over to you, the recruitment team...
Since 2010 when we failed to strengthen in striking distance of automatic.

Yes, that was tragic. Can't see us making that mistake again. We only need 2 quality players.

The one thing about Preston and Leeds is that both have had the core of their squad, where as ours is just being built, good recruitment in Jan and some continuity will see us develop and only get better as the season goes on, both of those sides are ahead of us in terms of that and were 3 points behind with a game in hand, absolutely we are in the hunt for top 2. My concerns are we dont create enough chances, if we improve in that area then we really are in business.

And if we can get Preston’s luck with penalties who knows how high we can go.

I am not convinced either and a look at the league table backs up that judgement.
It's there for the taking I hope we can grab it.
I reckon it's there for the taking too, I am not sure if we'll ever have a better chance.
