Also and not to bring a downer on all this, the only problems with adding to the capacity is the issues with access and egress that a rise in attendances would bring - another 10k trying to get in and out would seriously strain the transport and roads, not to mention the footfall, as much as we’d love the bigger ground I’m sure the council wouldn’t be too pleased as it would be a health and safety risk. There’s some very big decisions to be made very soon no doubt.

It’s a real shame the Tram to Gamston hasn’t happened. I suspect it would be popular on matchday

They're definitely bringing out a third kit, it was announced when the deal was.

Back on the City Ground theme I would be surprised if new Peter Taylor stand would add more than 3k capacity maybe a bit more filling in TE corner.
The need is not just the extra seats but also an overhaul of how we commercialse the club. We are miles behind most other clubs in terms of function rooms and corporate facilities despite being pretty well located for this purpose, I would assume this will be a major factor in any decision.
The BC stand too is horribly dated, the boxes are pretty awful, I think under Fawaz less than half of them were actually occupied, again another revenue source particularly if we get promoted. Even then the design with no external seat option for the boxes is very dated.
I love my walk over Trent Bridge and prematch pint around the ground as much as anyone but I do wonder if you were to take a cold hearted financial view then you would conclude the best option is to start over.

The last line is probably the truth.
No point being sentimental, if you really want a total commercial sweep. Then a blank canvas is the best option.
I remember our friendly at MKDons. I had never been before and I thought wow!
How can a small club like this, have a gem of a stadium that shames ours?

Obviously I meant in that the line was planned to have run from Town to Gamston...enabling fans to jump on / off and connect to Clifton, Toton, Hucknall and anywhere in between, thus easing traffic and making it more convenient to get to the ground.

I agree MK is a great stadium, again on the revenue stream side it has a hotel built into the stand. I spend a lot of time with work in Reading, again the Madjewski has a hotel and loads of corporate facities, soulless it may be but it makes money.
My personal wish if it is possible would probably be to tear down the whole CG and rebuild on the same site, think thats a pipedream though.

Plus the footprint for a modern stadium would seriously struggle to fit into the space we have available now, even losing the BC stand car park wouldn’t help that much. Also the BC stand wouldn’t pass modern H&S regs due to the lack of exits, starting with a clean slate would be ideal but ridiculously expensive staying where we are now....
