I've had a good look through the proposals. Looks pretty good. It's clear that this is a stand built for the premier league, what with all the media rooms and hospitality areas.

Top concourse (4th floor) looks shoe-horned in. It's odd as it has no direct access to the seats - to get into the concourse you'll have to go up another flight of stairs. The stairs could be manic at half time with people travelling in both directions (?).

Looks like the new stand is purely match-day accommodation as I cant see any club offices, classrooms etc in the proposals. These are currently located in the 'Champions Centre' behind the shop. Wonder if they're proposing to close down the Brian Clough stand hospitality area and relocate the offices into there? Or the Academy site?

Also,the location of the retail space is weird. It first appears in the corner building on the 3rd floor and doesn't appear to have a general access point from ground level, or through the concourses. That cant be right - It doesn't look resolved to me.

Heights of each stand (to the highest point of the roof/trusses):
BC stand: 26.42 metres
TE stand: 28.70 metres
New Main Stand: 38.00 metres!

Bloody Hell. That's huge!

An extra 12 meters.  If you did that for all the other stands.  How much extra capacity could the City Ground muster?

That's why I was quizzical about the height and capacity of this stand.  Perhaps it augers a future where each stand will be knocked down and rebuilt to maximise the City Ground foot print and push capacity to its limits.

Eg.  If it's 35-ish with the Peter Taylor Stand.  If you rebuilt the Brian Clough Stand to match it...how much extra capacity could they rinse out of it?  Same with A Block.  Same with Bridgford.  

Could Forest eventually push 40-45k by gradually redeveloping each stand at a time to 38 meters.  That and filling in the corners?

The Brian  clough holds the same as the new pt stand. Just built to modern standards.

This is interesting. When clubs redevelop or replace grounds, the moving of supporters changes the atmosphere.

A block will split next year and be scattered around the ground while constrction happens.

A project to extend Nottingham Forest's Nigel Doughty Academy and deliver a private suite for Greek owner Evangelos Marinakis has been given the go-ahead.

The Reds proposed to extend the existing first-team building at the Wilford Lane training ground, providing space for Mr Marinakis to host guests and hold meetings.

The plans, also designed to provide added space for scouts and sport science staff, have since been approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council planners. The project will extend the massage and recovery area and the new space will be occupied by a new manager's office.

it’s something that I’ve been wondering too. 

I think that next season we’ll be moving to Pinnacle Place or whatever it’s called now. 

I think the risk is that what is a really condensed group of like minded people will probably get spread too thinly plus you’ll also get people wanting to relocate from other areas because it’s shiny and new but not interested in maintaining the same levels of atmosphere.
