Nottingham forest and Notts County 1974.

I like the old football shirts.  Better than the plastic tat of the modern era.  (I do have a retro badge Forest hoodie... :D )

Iconic.  Less cluttered designs.  (The constant reinvention of kit for cash these days....meh.)

I preferred this era along with the 1970s.  Men were men.  Long hair.  Side burns.  Kenny Burns.  Take out your man.  Kit that didn't look like advertising billboards.  (Tacky.  But it brings in revenue, I guess.)

Wasn't so fond of the kit in the 80s with the 'silly shorts' and t-shirts.

It's not so bad seeing the two rivals sit side by side.  

There's a bit of charm about it.

I remember this well. It was all in good fun and the young ladies were never offended. They used to smile and do a little jig in front of the Trent End hordes. I hate to think what would happen today. How things have changed.

We'd be charged with a hate crime.

I was watching a history program (I can't be the only one on the planet, surely?) and I was educated to the fact that women's football was 'a thing' at one point at time with huge male crowds and even more popular than the male game at one point!  Seeing women in the football kit of the time was quite enlightening.

Before the footballing hierarchy 'closed them down' effectively.

Ironic that women' football is on the long road back to popularity 100 years later.

I remember well when Labone, the Everton centre half took Joe out for the season losing the Reds the FA cup as the weakened Forest side lost 2-1 to Spurs at Hillsborough. Joe had run him ragged until the swine took his revenge. Think it was 1967/8 when we finished in 2nd place. Labone was hated at the CG from then on.

Could be wrong but I think Anderson, Birtles and Robertson are the only ones who did not cost anything, ie, they came through our Youth system.

MON cost 15K from Distillery in NI and Bowyer was transferred from Orient - John O Hare came with McGovern - although no fee was mentioned Forest wrote off the amount which Leeds owed on the Duncan McKenzie (No, the other one) transfer.
