Alf, believe me that is not the case at all.
They may have underestimated things and they now realise it's gonna be a lot tougher than what they first thought but these guys have backbone and nouse in abundance. Like I said before there is no magic wand. Lets be patient.

Hiring and firing managers is part of modern football. Some fans make too much of it. It’s obvious these owners are determined to get promotion.

I hope you're right Sniff, but changes mid-season should only ever be made when staving off relegation.
As a club we have NEVER finished higher than where we were placed when the manager was sacked in the past 10 years.
Whatever impression the new owners give, actions are the true display of their makeup. And following a course of action which has never worked for us (I don't think it has any club for that matter) will to me display a massive lack of nouse.
I have no faith in promises, I find faith in actions. And, unless we're going down, Lamouchi should see out the season.
You haven't got nouse if your continued, repeated course of action is one which has only ever seen us worse off.

In my book we were staving off relegation when Warbuton was sacked. We were certainly heading in that direction.
Karanka was not sacked. He walked.
These are facts.

Spot on Alf.
Its not about saying the owners are useless, its the fact actions to date seem naive for what is needed to succeed in the Championship.

What we need is a winter break.....from Nov 30th until Jan 1st. We would probably have been top 6 for each of last 3 seasons then........
I mean an official winter break not the unofficial one the players seem to take on the pitch every December

Which actions are naive?
Sacking Warburton who was sending us into a relegation battle after only escaping on the last day of the season before?
Karanka walked out we didn't sack hm.

Actions that were naive:
Expecting warburton to land promotion with Daryl Murphy and Barry McKay
Not backing him in January, then sacking him mid season. (Warburton wasnt great but we werent going down)
Splashing a record fee on an a young player, Putting faith in Mendes to deliver but only taking his unproven players.
Destabilising a proven manager in Karanka, he walked for a reason.
Expecting O Neill would dance to their tune, he was never going to.
None of this is saying our owners are poor, dont care, dont invest in the club, I know they want to succeed. Its the assumption that the model that worked in Greece will work here that is wrong. Hiring and firing doesnt work in my opinion.

Forest boffins did some good stats on this a year or so ago, teams that get promoted on average have a manager in place for 2.5 years onwards.
Worse still teams who have a manager less than a year almost never go up. So statistically sacking a manager is clearly a bad idea.
There were mitigating circumstances surrounding the previous managers but there is nothing here. If Sabri gets sacked it'll just be another impatient owner sacking a manager for a short term boost without really planning long term or using evidence to make key decisions.
Completely agree with Alf above, no need to sack a manager u less to avoid relegation. Give him the chance to build on his early success and continue to learn how to play in the championship. Even Watford the only team who've really successfully repeatedly sacked managers are getting found out this year, sacking doesn't work!

Their signings for one.
And yes Warburton. We were 14th, we finished 17th and employed a manager who was happy to approve the biggest waste of money we've ever spent arriving at the club. Their naivety was also displayed by failing to recognize that AK was a manager requiring heavy investment most windows, and heavy player rotation, to succeed.
If they were one offs I'd think it was one of those things. But every window so far the majority of the signings have been hit & hope, and we're now on our 4th manager in 3 years. Those are not isolated incidents.
Stick with Sab's and they've showed their learning. Stick with Sabs and sign quality in Jan and we're well set. Prob won't be this year, but we'll be doing the right things at last.
Salv & Wassy are spot in IMO.

:D
No one's saying sack them Sniff. We're not like them you know :P
Seriously though, I wouldn't expect Lamouchi not to be coming in from criticism or have a bollocking from them (even though I personally would direct most of that at Mendez & Modesto). But I wouldn't expect him sacked.
Similarly I'm not wanting the owners sacked, I just want them to recognize where they've been going wrong and adjust their approach.
