Mounie in for Koroma. Jaden on the bench, no striker on the bench at all.

Won't need one. Kachunga's going to get a first half hat-trick, & then we can park the bus at 3-0 up once Mounie gets tired

Barstewards 1-0 down at Fulham and key man Hernandez off injured after 2 mins

Lolley playing well and Forest starting to look dangerous

This is pretty poor

Schindler... 1-0!!!!!!!!!! Get in!
Yes... headed down by Mounie and hammered into the net by Schindler.

From a corner... that cant be right, can it ?

Overall we been crap

Bacuna could have given a penalty away twice in three seconds there FFS

Kicked off pretty big in football handbag terms in the tunnel

I think it all escalated after DC told one of their staff to f**k off.

Think we ain't gonna be the family club with their antics on the sidelines.

Some top shithousery from Town in the first half, killing time even before we scored.

Poor performance so far, they’re finding it too easy to play through us and our midfield hasn’t really got into the game. Need to up it second half as they’ll come at us, we’re lucky to be ahead.

As he said Handbags - started with DC and their manager hands on each other giving verbals and Hudson was involved further down the tunnel with a member of Forest's bench even Brooky looked to be getting into it.

4th official's version will be crucial as he seemed to be inside the tunnel witnessing the lot but wouldn't be surprised if the benches have fewer personnel in the second half

2-0 Grant
Mounie!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0

Forests marking of Mounie from corners is unbelievably bad,

2 goals from corners - who are this team and what have they done with the Town I know?

Forest looking dangerous again
Good save grabbara

Keep the ball Town. Take the pressure off the club with a win.

Bloody nerve racking this finish.
Grabbara saves again

Full time. Great win. Much needed points

7 points from 9 with massive injuries... fair play Danny Cowley and the squad.

Anybody else noticed that since the Cowley's took charge, we seem to have more shots on target all of a sudden?

Radio Nottingham suggesting Town are an awful club and that the Cowley's get their teams to be cynical, time wasting and relying on set pieces to score. Clearly they don't watch Town very often. A great result considering injuries to key players. Well battled lads.

Who cares what they say, bet they say that stuff every time forest lose or are losing

Fantastic! About bloody time. And I don't want to be a family club either. I want my team to compete and win.

Being weak, naive and nice got us nowhere... no one gives a shit.

Great win but I think it was all a bit unecessary at the end letting Forest back in the game when we had it totally under control but given the injuries and what not have you it was a great result

Hard game..the ref needs a special mention for booking and then not booking for exactly the same offence and also missing or ignoring 6 foul throws.
To say Forest were physical was an understatement.
We held our own, give Hoggy his due he just gets up and gets on where others squeal and roll around.
Other than wasting 3 really good chances at 2-0 the rest was hard fought and a great 3 points.
The options have been limited for the manager and there was no little fight in the side today and some decent play in the opposition's half. The goal conceded still shows the work needed but better to be 2 up when we f**k up?
Merry Christmas to all members of the brother/sister hood of eternal optimists.

12 off the play offs.. Come on

Heard we're throwing 40 million at it in January to make a charge for the play offs.

Cowleys upsetting opposition fans again are they?
Good.

Lolley saying he got a good reception from the town fans. Which is as it should be.. Called our first goal "lucky"

Good game, I enjoyed it. A good physical battle and that spell early in the second half was the best we have played all season imo.

How Cash missed that header at the end, God only knows! Lolley came alive in the last 20 and he would look good in our side but I know that that boat has sailed.

An excellent three points and a great atmosphere once we went 2 up.

I thought Forest came to bully us today. they got away with way too much with that inept referee.

Cynical??

Look in the dictionary it will say:

See Notts Forest..

The time wasting was right but as we were winning it was our turn?

Had we scored with 3 very good opportunities in open play it might have blown the set piece 'theory ' out of the window, although checking our previous goals they might have found the truth re set pieces to be bollox..?

Their manager is exceptionally salty, considering Sow and Watson could have seen red. We play the game like every bastard has done against us for years. So what.

Credit to the ball boy in front of the south stand - got the crowd going nicely

The ball Boys actions were brilliant. The Forest player did not know what to do.

Also heard that Hoggy wiped out a ball boy when he was pushed into the advertising hoardings. Hoggy had to check the ball boy was OK before returning to the pitch

Not the greatest game I’ve ever seen but I enjoyed it in the end. There’s a strong correlation between Town winning and me enjoying the game. Strange that!

Forest can arguably count themselves a bit unlucky not to get owt from that game, but tough shit. They were pretty cynical throughout, I thought, but always looked dangerous up front.

Two good goals by Town, and both from corners, who would have believed it, though I guess Schindler’s was second phase. Took it really well though. Then a rumble in the tunnel at HT. Not the first time I’ve seen that with the Cowleys! Good stuff! Shame Grant couldn’t finish off that great move from another corner that their goalie blocked. Looks like the Cowley methods are starting to work.

Also, can we have that ref every week we're losing if he books a keeper without even a word for time wasting and lets the losing side get away with numerous cynical fouls, whilst booking identical fouls or slightly mistimed trips from the winning team.

I dont think the Forest fans are keen on the Cowleys .

Quote from their forum "The Cowleys are a f*****g disgrace, Its the first time I have seen how they operate and they have turned Huddersfield into a Warnock side of 20 years ago.
Even Warnock would be appalled by those tactics in 2019.
Huddersfield are going to be come one of the most hated teams in the division before long with these two goons in charge"

Does anyone know why opposition fans keep saying this? I dread to think what they thought of Preston.

They are doing the job without the right tools at the moment . With the start we had keeping us up will do nicely , then lets see what they can do with a few of their own signings.

Great performance - thought Hogg in particular was outstanding. Full credit to Flo and Stankovic - both since coming into the team have been solid. Very pleased for Grabara following last week too, and good on Steve getting his goal it’s been a long time coming.

Forest were a nasty team. Lolley the only standout for them but thankfully the RB behind him was woeful. That Ben Watson scuffle at the end was comical - awful player with an awful attitude.

Loved the Cowleys giving their backroom staff shit, which they deserved.

Care to elaborate for those who weren't there. Wonder if the whole club are being taught by the Cowleys and we will hear about cold water in the away showers and unflushable poos left by the tea lady in the opposition changing rooms.

Cannot see where the Forest fans are comming from - they were far more cynical than us - so much so that they took their best player off as he was in danger of being sent off.

Only a Few comments about.......Hull City v Forest Pre Match Comments.....

It’s 4-0 innit
Nailed on
50/1 with sky bet
Eaves Bowen 2 klp with the coop de Ville

best drinking day of the year too.

After reading McCann's comments about how he made his biggest mistake as a manager last Christmas by giving his players the daytime off and then travelling across for their Boxing Day game on Christmas Day evening, and them getting beat 3-0 - I'm now half expecting a 'typical City' moment, so we'll probably play like we're full of food and drink/still drunk and get beat 3-0.

We always beat Forest. They’re ****.
City 3 nowt.

I remember us beating Forest at home in the FA Cup - cant remember the round but it was the season we took Chelsea to a replay

Good to see Wiggo and Chilly in action...

What state is the pitch in though!

It was 1965-66, 4th round, we won 2-0.

My first ever game - Terry Heath scored both goals.

Got into bother over that game as we went to school on Saturday morning and I refused to play for the rugby team that afternoon. To make sure we got away in time for the train asked the French teacher along with another lad if we could leave early. Amazed, as he was no fan of myself, at his reaction when he said loudly of course you can’t leave early, what do you think this is? Then said softly that he would have liked to have gone so if we both asked to go to the toilet and didn’t come back what could he do about it?
After getting off train we were in the city centre looking at TVs in a shop window and a bloke asked us if we were going to the game. We said yes and he asked us who we thought would win. We said City of course and he said he hoped it was a good game and we enjoyed it. We were stood in the Well and when the teams came out my mate said look - there’s that bloke who was talking to us. It was Terry Hennessy. Remember Forest brought thousands and they had an enormous banner which was nearly the length of the East Stand. Great atmosphere.

School on Saturday morning? Must have been Hymers or Borstal!

Bowen hat trick against Forest.

Sooooo ****ing charitable to sides in poor form!

Our midfield is so obviously the area of weakness, with Stewart and Toral injured. Sounds like even Da Silva was poor today but I think he is the only one of the 4 fit midfield players who is really good enough for top half of the championship. Irvine is so erratic.

Just about the worst display of feigning injuries from a visiting team I can remember. Worse than the infamous DQPR.

Didn't see the game today but the lack of comment on here since the final whistle speaks for itself I guess

Just got back in from a hard days socialising. Was gutted to see the score. Why do we seem such a pushover for sides with poor form. The lack of consistency will hurt us badly this year if Terry can’t sort it out. Still hoping for a midfield leader and another forward in Jan.

On the plus side, Preston are all over Leeds. Funny old game.

Where was KLP
He turned up, threw up and got sent home.
Illness, sent home after initially being named as a sub.

I had a bad feeling before this game, and it wasn’t the Jager and Vodka shots from yesterday, although probably didn’t help. Just got back home, that was woeful.

Forest had a game plan to upset us from the start, changing the kick off, which we don’t seem to take to. They were then a bunch of niggly aggressive bullies, time wasters and cheats. For our part, we didn’t seem capable of stringing passes together to our own players. Poor. With a bench of 4 defenders, Bowler and Honeyman, little to no ability to change the game.

MOM, their physio. ‘Nuff said.

They were ****, we somehow managed to outshit them. Our passing was ****, our tackling was **** and our attacking play was ****.

That was top swearing.

Poor game all round, was really looking forward to the game but typical get a few more at the match and we just didn't perform. Did either keeper have much to do other than the goals? We should have taken the lead after 3 minutes when Irvine put it over the bar but not much happened after that. Overall a frustrating afternoon against an average side who made us look poor. We couldn't open them up, De silva looked has though he was over trying because he's been very good lately. One to forget I'm afraid we need to see a lot of improvement for the next two away games.

Bad day at the office today. We just didn't get going.
And why were we kicking towards South stand first half? No wonder players seemed lost.

I'm thinking Watford were the worst at time wasting and play acting. But there was a far better outcome for us, because Robbie Koren scored a last minute, nay last second equaliser for us.

Well that was rubbish. My other half usually comes to the football, they went to their mothers instead and I think they got the better deal tbh.

slightly concerning about klp - before the match the message was that he was sick and got sent home and I assumed stomach bug or undercooked turkey or hangover. After the match, McGann said to Burnsy that KLP has a “thing” where sometimes he’s a bit dizzy and not well, and implied today was one of those days. I hope I misunderstood as we don’t need another player with a long term health condition. Did anyone else hear that?

Yeh I heard it, did he means its happened a lot lately, or it's a known thing? Hopefully tests are all ok.

And about the game. Grant got it wrong, instead of playing the same side after a emphatic 3-0 victory he changed the whole shape of the side with one chance. Think he was worried about Forest to much, weird for a side coming off a winless run of 5 and 1 win in 7.

Also never ever ever play Irvine in the number 10 again, I aren't singling him out like the rest of our crap support but neither team or him do well when hes there. He is no good if he can't see the pass infront of him, he plays a lot better as DMC next to Lopes. Shame our best midfielder is in Norway.

I won't mention Eaves first touch, his constant grappling of the opposition and inability to head the ball. Upps.

I rely on the thoughts on this forum here and reports. Interesting what Swanny said post game re Lopes. In the pre-match, Burnsy had said how good he'd been recently and McCann said he wanted more from him and for him to be more attacking. The lads confidence would have been growing and growing before today and as Swanny said, today he was asked to do things differently and be more aggressive.. For eons we've needed a midfield sitter, someone who breaks play, if he was £15 millions worth he could probably do as McCann asked. He's not and seemingly at the moment he can't. If it broke McCann, dont try and fix it, this is where your word consistency comes into play.

He also said lets hope Elder is not crocked because as soon as Kingsley appeared we were miles off it...

As TT said above, what must the team talk of been... "they'll come at you today because they've picked up 2 points in 18 and lost 6 away on the spin.... "... FFS

Thoughts anyone..?

Only thing I would say there wage bill will be massive Gabban is what we massively lack, oh and Silva.

Attempts to build up momentum continue to be frustrated in a patchy run of form but McCann stressed that his side are still headed in the right direction.

“This league is very, very difficult and over the last 12 games we’ve won six of them,” said City’s head coach.

“I don’t think that’s too inconsistent, that’s quite good going. But we need to make sure we respond from this.

“We were inconsistent in the first 10 (games of the season) but we’ve got a wee bit better. Yes, we’ve lost today and lost three points but we’ve got plenty of time to make it up.”

If they'd have had Irvine today we'd have won - can't understand why he took Batty off - I know he said tactics but Irvine was screaming to be taken off - we desperately need a central midfielder and a striker in the transfer window

He was poor but less poor than da Silva

This is at Terry’s door
Had us sussed from the start and we did nothing to change things
Super performance from them
Amoebi Watson and that little **** in midfield completely out did us
poor from terry

ON GIVING HIS PLAYERS CHRISTMAS DAY OFF…
It’s a day to be spent with family. I trust the boys. To bring them away from their families for an hour or two on Christmas Day – it’s not worth it. We’ve worked very hard over the last two or three days in preparation for the game on Boxing Day and the boys know exactly what we expect of them. We’ll be in here on Boxing Day morning for a couple of meetings on set-pieces etc, the team will eat together and we’ll be good to go.

I expect forest stayed overnight in a hotel
Focussed?? I expect
Worst performance of the season

Can't really bring myself to moan about their time wasting after we ****housed them for the last 20 mins at their place like true pros. Just ****.

To be expected that we won at the Hull Ground, Nottngham- it's our easiest away win.

Likewise when they come here , expect an away win.

Hull were off colour, but Nottingham were a disgrace. As has been said, it was almost like watching vintage DQPR or some other time wasting cockney ****s.

Embarrassed to be a football fan the way their players were conning the officials.

Has it come to this? Fluke a pen in the first ten mins, then try and waste as much time as possible by pretending to be injured for the remaining 80 mins?

Thank **** I don't have to watch that ****house of a team every week. It must be soul-destroying knowing your team are con men.

Much rather watch our erratic inconsistent team. Proud to call myself a Hull supporter. Results mean **** all.

it’s that rolling around on the floor from players tat ****ing annoys me about football. I hate seeing our players do it, any players. It’s just ****housery and it needs clamping down on.

Very quiet away fans most of the time, despite leading.

Think they knew in their hearts of hearts it was a tinpot win from a club still vainly believing their bullshit 70s pedigree.

The magic's gone. They'll never even qualify for Europe again, let alone win the European Cup.

Reduced to conning the officials and the paying public.

Shabby beyond belief. Clough must be turning in his grave at this set of conmen.

All the players seemed to have had too much turkey .
Now, I realise that this is not the case and they would have trained at least part of yesterday and not indulged, but they played that way.
Too many misplaced passes and Irvine was particularly culpable, but wrong to single him out.
Just generally poor all round though forest made it difficult with a pressing game.
Not Terry's fault for me, this one was on the players.

Oh dear - oh dear - oh dear, that was a shocker, second best all over the field. I wouldn't mind any team being better than us, but Forest was also poor. I must say I agree with Chazz, I have always thought of giving them the day off was a mistake. I remember Phil Brown giving them the day off priory to in infamous Man City boxing day game, they just didn't turn up. Just bring them in for a couple of hours keeps them focus on the job, giving them the whole day off, IMO just lets them switch off mentally.

The only player I felt a little sorry for was Batty being taken off, he IMO was probably the better of the 3 midfielders. Irvine should have been shepherd crocked as he had a shocker.

Unfortunately, we are prone to these performances, and that will be our Achilles heel in the end of getting into the playoffs unless Grant finds a way of eradicating these bad days.

Let's hope they turn up performance-wise at QPR.

Wigan Fan Comments.....

Might as well start this one as no one else has.
Despite an improvement in recent performances, albeit without the results we crave, I think we'll be back to losing ways as Forest will be just too strong for us at home. We capitalised on their manager underestimating us at our place, he won't make the same mistake this time and unfortunately Forest have the one thing we don't, a proven goalscorer at this level, which makes all the difference.

2:0

Bizarrely, given all the above, I'm still making the effort to go, which I guess is just further proof for those of you that already think I'm puddled !

0-1
Gelhardt after 4 minutes.

I'll settle for a piss poor performance with us having two red cards, Forest missing two pens and we win in the 9th minute of added time as Forest score an own goal.

Cook will laud it as "the result of the century"

Garner to start (and score in a 1-1 result) with Windass on the bench in the only change.

If we can keep our good vein of form going lose 2-0.
If not could be a schallakin

I think they will have a man sent off and we will win 3-1

I think it's more likely we have a man sent off and lose 3-1.

this vein of form which cook is talking about persists I will go for a draw which we all knows is no bloody good what so ever. I gave up my season ticket this year

Even if we scored in the 99th minute, the time added on for celebrations would undoubtedly be enough for Forest to score twice in the time remaining.

We'll be lucky if Geldhartd is even on the bench let alone starting.

Think Cook will drop Windass for Garner which I think would be a mistake as while we gain a striker who can be something of a physical prescence and out and out striker we've been lacking we lose our pace and movement that has stretched teams - you need both on at the same time and drop one of the 3 attacking mids.

Last win was against Forest when they rested numerous players so I can't see them taking us for granted again. It's football so you never know but expecting a loss.

I'd like to see Windass on the left where he is usually a best fit, drop Jacobs.

Pilks Joffy Windass
Moore

Keep Lowe on the bench. Won't happen but with the congestion I hope to see some other deserving players given a go.
Reply
That last line above ^

I thought Lowe ripped us a new arse hole when we played Wigan at their place earlier this season. I will be very happy to see him on the subs bench today.
COYR!
Reply
A couple more....

I'd start Garner to give us that physical presence up front and play Windass just behind and making runs beyond him, with Pilks on 1 wing and Jacobs or Lowe on the other.
Another option is to bring in Williams just behind the striker as he did well in that position when he came on against Derby and also in a few away games just before he got injured.Windass could be moved out wide to offer his pace down 1 of the flanks.Joffy is another option to start behind the striker but I can't see it as he's not even been in the squad recently.
Depending on fitness/injuries I'd keep the rest of the team the same.Maybe Sterling for Byrne.
Before Forests Boxing day win at Hull they weren't in great form prior to that.So a result for us is possible if we replicate the positives from the last 4 performances and try to improve on the end product in the final third. They have something we don't however.A goalscorer in Grabben,so I hope he's rested like at the DW.But Kipre and Naismith have done well last 4 games so they should be confident even if he does play.
Prediction I'll go 1-1.I want to see us try to win the game but a draw won't be a bad result here even though we do need a win.

6-0 to Forest and the useless shits on our board will still not comment. Royles out!
