Forest v Wigan...
Pre Match and 1st Half....
Just as predicted bloody Massey returns. Midfielder plays up top on his own again. Joe Garners reward for scoring...warm that bench.
Why not do the sensible thing and not bring Massey in and play Joe up top with Windass as an attacking midfielder. Jesus Christ!!!!
Massey would not get into the quite a few league ones team, its a farce he is being picked, why is he even being picked based on? Mates?
A nice win for the final away game of 2019.
Onwards and upwards
Pilkington is never going to get a chance of proving himself. He is actually fit at the moment but dropped today for mighty Gav who has been consistently poor all season. Lowe automatically gets a place for some strange reason.
Roll on a new manager to sort this shit out.
Funnily enough Jacobs kept his place week after week of under performing and he finally has a good one against Derby and gets dropped for Massey who has been even worse than Jacobs. I am not against dropping Jacobs as overall he's not been up to it but this is the first week I thought he ever actually deserved to stay in and he's out. I don't get unconditionally keeping faith when it's going wrong then when you finally get something out of them suddenly lose faith. It's backwards.
Garner and Pilkington on the bench and Massey starting is hardly rewarding success and punishing failure. Team selections are virtually always baffling - playing favourites as usual.
Forest seem a bit critical of their team selection - think they are resting a couple but not on the scale they did at the DW.
Is that Cook screaming his bollocks off constantly?...
We look lightweight up front.
We couldn’t score in a brothel with this line up
Take Williams off and play Joffy behind Windass, we need some subtlety in the final third and and a goal threat. We’ve bossed that first half but our final ball is gash
To win you have to score when on top much of first half we were !- get joffy on for Lowe or Massey who have unsurprisingly done feck all first half
Dominated but no cutting edge! Rather like a broken record now!!
Forest are all over the place and there for taking today but we just aren't posing a threat despite being the better side. Even at set pieces we often aren't even getting a ball in the box.
Attacking midfield 3 gone missing again, crosses from full backs too often not finding anyone and we knew before a ball is kicked Windass hasnt got the presence to play up front on his own. Get Garner and Pilks / Geldhartd on and try and get ahead before Forest get going.
Forest will be read the riot act at half time and have Adomah, Silva and Lolley to bring on so they surely can't do another 45 as bad as that. Missed a glorious opportunity to catch them sleeping in their first half - hopefully we haven't squandered our best chance to win this.

Forest v Wigan
2nd Half and post match
Not a happy bunch.....
Let's hope they have just missed their best chance annall...seemed easier to score that header.
What a suprise conceed a set piece again! Worst team in country for conceeding dead balls.
How the hell did Byrne not even hit the target?!?
Who'd have thought Massey would be first subbed off for doing absolutely nothing? Who could've predicted it?
But on comes not Garner, not Geldhardt but Roberts...
Is anyone surprised?
Fail to hit the target from a one on one. A minute later stand around like statues from a corner and allow them a free header.
What goes on the training ground I’ve no idea, but it certainly isn’t finishing or defending set pieces.
You surprised? The last time a cook sub made any impact in a positive sense was Geldhardt at Hull. And the lad has barely been seen since.
This lot won’t score as long as they’ve got a hole in their arse.
Dunkley will be on soon.
Joke again
Feck off Windass
WHY DID WE LET JOSH TAKE THE PEN?! HE'S MISSED EVERY PEN HE'S TAKEN?
Gelhardt has shown more quality in 2 mins than our entire squad have all season.
Gelhardt done more in 2 minutes than Massey has all season.
As soon as Windass stepped up I knew he wouldn't score it.
Same shit different match.
FFS. Please make it stop ....
Jesus fecking Christ, why the f**k is Windarse taking penalties. Do we ever heed f*****g lessons
Geldhartd caused more problems in 2 mins than the attacking midfield trio collectively have in the previous 10 games combined.
Who'd have guessed he'd be a better option than every other player Cook has used ahead of him for months?
Your a fecking disgrace Cook Joffy has just shown you up for what you are
I am fuming.
Gelhardt has absolutely destroyed Forest in his 15 minute cameo. Could have had 2 or 3 goals with his creativity. Why on earth is he never played?
What does Cook see in training? The same under performers are in the team week in, week out. But players with real quality get cameos or a single match. Then back on the bench.
So long as this man is in charge we will always be saying, if only, what if, why did he do that, what the hells he doing.....its groundhog day everytime we play. Great cameo from Geldhart but that will now consign him to either not in the squad or benched #cookout
What the hell do we do in training 13corners and no goal threat
Should have won at a canter. Camped in their half pretty much all match. The stats are ridiculous. Our attacking players are a disgrace. 69% possession and 13 corners away from home. 14 shots including a penalty and still can't score. Professional footballers who can't shoot, total disgrace.
Joe Garner as predicted scores a brilliant goal on Boxing Day then gets dropped. A natural predator in the box but only gets brought on with minutes to go. Young Geldhart our own little Rooney, bags of talent changes our approach. Both Garner and Geldhart are substitutes behind Gary Flamin Roberts FFS.
Rich vein of absolutely atrocious form continues.
Open your eyes Royle, failing that open your gob and communicate with the fans and supporters.
Like I said earlier, our front players could not score in a free brothel. How many more chances should they be given? Like others have said Joffey did more in 15 mins than the rest did all match. So why won’t Cook play him? Yet again I find myself let down and disgusted. And to make matters worse, all the other results went our way today.
Why did he bring the 73 year old Roberts on? Why did Garner lose his place? Why did Windass take the penalty? Why haven't we seen more of Gelhardt in recent games (who has always looked a threat whenever he's played)? The decisions this manager makes are utterly ridiculous. I keep hoping that things will change, but there is just no evidence of it. We've nothing to lose. From now on, he must give Gelhardt more game time. Cook won't be sacked - it would have happened by now. I can only assume that they can't afford to release him from his contract. I have nothing against him personally but I just don't think he's up to it.
Massey and Lowe start - really
Played Forest off the pitch with 9 men
Roberts first sub - really
Forest had 2 corners we had 13 they scored we played all ours short - really
Nathan Byrne do you have a left foot ?
Windass allowed to take another pen - really
Geldhardt did more in 15 mins than the front 3 put together.
Won the pen should have took it
incompetence reaches a new level of shittery
Honourable mentions to Naismithenbauer and Robinson both had good games for me.
It's so hard to take, we have completely dominated 7 of the last 8 matches and 10 out of the 13 games we haven't won, we were by far the better side. Yet 0 wins. We're so close to being a good side but just keep making the same errors. We can't score, yet all the players capable of scoring hardly get a chance. If the right players had started thr last 13 games with the way we've played I'm adamant we'd have won at least 7/8 of those 13. How many absoluter sitters can one team miss? Defence yet again for 85+ minutes doesn't give a sniff and that's been the case through all those 13 matches. Failure to convert chances and then sitting back in so many games eventually causes you to crack at the back, psychologically it's inevitable.
Our keepers through the last 13 matches have had almost nothing to do apart from pick the ball out of the net. Yet we haven't won once.
God I’m f*****g angry.
Why is the bellend in charge incapable of learning from mistakes?
Windarse has missed the last two penalties so why the hell is he still taking them? I can’t wait to hear the excuse for this.
Why do we concede so many goals from corners? What the goes on in training to address this issue because the same mistakes happen game after game.
We can’t hit a cows arse with a banjo, so why the hell does Joffy not get a game? Instead we persist with utter shite week after week masquerading as a forward line when the young lad already proved his quality at Hull and showed more in 15 minutes today then the aforementioned shite has done all season.
Still no doubt the clown will be hailing that the good form has continued despite one away win in a calendar year and no win in 13 as we sit bottom.
Message to Mr. Cook...now I know you don't like awkward questions but try this one on for size...why keep playing Massey and Lowe week after week when Joffy did more in 5 minutes than them 2 fecking wasters have done in 10 games combined?
13 corners, none played directly into the box, they had two corners, both played directly into the box and scored from one! Not hard to see a flaw in the masterplan is there!!
Last few games I've felt frustrated but resigned to our fate but I'm fuming today.
Why is Windass delegated pen taker despite having a 0% conversation rate for us?! And what the hell was that penalty not hit hard, not in the corner absolute garbage hoping keeper jumps out of the way. Disgraceful effort from Josh but he shouldn't have even got the chance to miss it.
Why has Geldhardt not been playing ever game this season?
Why wait so long to get the subs on? Why not when we were on top before they scored?
Why do we conceed set pieces continually and it never gets better?
Why do so many of our set pieces not end up in the box when attacking set pieces is literally the only thing we are good at?
Why start with that team? No Pilks, no Garner or Geldhardt but Lowe under achieving all year and Massey out of his depth and out of position, Williams out of position in attacking mid and Windass out of position up front in a role we know he can't play.
Forest were woeful and we were all over them but we threw it away again. No lack of effort from the lads on the pitch and as frustrated as I am at missing chances I know the lads aren't missing them delibereltly but the stuff we decisions above we make game after game are what infuriate me the most - we don't maximise our chances of winning by doing the most sensible thing or learning from past mistakes.
15% win ratio this season and falling every week, record equaling 13 without a win, something like 17 wins in over 70 games, how bad does this run have to get? We are now 7 adrift of 5th bottom and no chance we'll make up that gap. So we are bottom of a mini league of the bottom 4. Need fresh ideas as we can't score and can't keep the ball out - surely at some point there must be a consequence for failure.
Reality is, no win in 13, 1 win away for well over a year. A change was needed months ago, and today demonstrated that no matter how well we play we still lose. It is a results business and Cook is not getting them. He is a very fortunate person to even still be at the club. Anywhere else he would have been sacked months ago at the latest.
As for the match, nothing needs to be said, Massey, Lowe, Roberts, and Windass got taught a football lesson by a 17-year-old player who when he came on did more than all of them combined all game. Our attacking players are nowhere near championship quality. Their goal was again from a corner. Meanwhile the corners we took lead to absolutely nothing.
The defence was good, the midfield did their jobs, but as soon as the ball went into the final third, nothing at all, I mean all our good plays actually came from Byrne and Robinson. Massey, Lowe was horrendous, may as well played with nine men.
As for Windass, as soon as he stepped up, it was missed, I have no idea why he takes the penalties. 4 misses in a row now?
I will say the players only have themselves to blame today. I expect Gelhardt to start every game from now on as we need results and he is our only good attacking player. But Cook has had a generous amount of time now, it's not going to improve, he needs to be ridden before the new year. Royles show some spine and do the right thing by the club. It is when you play well and lose which is the big worry.
Naismith, Gelhardt and Robinson had good games today.
And we still lost - shockin just shocking
Sack him and put his assistant in caretaker charge.
Joffy has to start every game now. Nothing l
To lose and the evidence I the pitch is there for all to see. Hull away. His pass vs Swansea which Moore should have done better with. Next game front 3 of windass garner and Joffy. Worth a try
Sack him and put crusty the pie in charge
For the first time in my Tics supporting life, I honestly don’t even care anymore. Not bothered in the slightest - same old, same old.
This will continue to happen - week in, week out - until we are relegated/a managerial change is made. End of story.
Yep, I’ve become ambivalent to our plight but today has really wound me up. Fuming. Sick and tired of that clowns inability learn from mistakes and the fact he’s still allowed to continue making them. To compound it his statistics are utterly appalling yet he’s allowed to carry on without consequence. Club needs a clear out from top to bottom.
Doesn’t even have the good grace to mention Gelhardt’s performance. I’m sorry Paul, you’ve done a lot of good for this club. But by not walking away a few months ago you’re ruining any remaining goodwill.
It feels like you’re staying on for a big payday. Not making the best decision for the club.
Wasn't there today, but I'm sick of seeing us take a short corner just to spend the next 5 minutes trying to work it in to a crossing position
We need a goalscorer because the muppets he is selecting clearly aren’t. Failing that play Gelhardt. I am at a loss to understand why he won’t. What have we got to lose? We are running out of time and I fear yet another relegation is looming. What annoys me more than anything is that we rarely get battered but still manage to get beaten time and again. Something has to change and soon.
All the possession and again only 4 shots on target yet a proven goal scorer sat on the bench

thanks for posting those comments, i genuinely feel sorry for the Wigan fans, they have a great squad and, maybe, up there, if not the best away team performance at the City Ground? Definately the unluckiest.

Oh dear. Poor Wigan. How unfortunate.
*plays his tiny violin remembering the all the fond times they had in the Premier whilst we walked the exodus in the hot desert of the Championship. And the times they beat us as our bogey team. Think I'd forgotten that, eh Wigan?

At least if they do, we don't have to play them a 3rd time and kickstart their season.

Utterly sickening. The way the players controlled that game and dominated the ball for 95% of that games not only makes me confused about the current position but makes me sad that relegation is likely and a lot of these players will go.
A very good performance today. Should and could have scored four or five. A blatant penalty turned down by another erratic referee. We won the home fixture against Forest, but played much less competently. We played well today, but lost. Even their manager admitted they were lucky.
Agree we had 2 other good shouts for a pen for the foul on Lowe and especially for the handball later on. But as TB said knowing us we'd have probably missed them anyway.
Clear Red and penalty by Sir Ben Watson.
We battered them.

Forest v Blackburn Jan 1st 2020
Comments Pre Match...
I can never think of Forest, without having my mind go back to their glory days under the late Brian Clough and their success not only domestically, but on the European stage too. Like us, those days are long gone and the likes of signing Trevor Francis as the first £1m footballer and Peter Shilton, they most expensive keeper at that time, are distant memories.
Again like us they had a brief look at life in the third tier, but are now established in the second tier again and are flirting with the play offs. Having played out a 1-1 draw at Ewood, back in October and with 4 points separating us in the league, this would suggest a close game. I can't help feeling though, that we are about to go on another one of those frustrating runs, where we simply can't buy a win.
The last 3 games have all suggested that we are going to struggle in this one and the bookmakers have us down to lose it. My prediction is a 2-0 defeat and given that would create a gap of 7 between us and them, could be the last time this season, we think we are in with a shout of the play offs.
I can see us doing a 'Rovers' in this one and taking the points against all odds, 2-1 Rovers.
I'll be glad to see the back of the festive fixtures to be honest now and move on. Struggling to give much of a monkeys about the cup game at the weekend.
From memory there was a horrible home defeat to them in 1999 which led to Kidd's "rubber dinghy men " outburst; I think we all knew that day we were going to go down.
I saw us lose at Forest in the mid 1970s in the season they were promoted to the top flight under Clough; they were way better than us .
I can’t see anything other than a defeat here, unfortunately. Obviously, I’d love the lads to prove me wrong, though!!
I was going all Mercer on this one and seeing a surprise 4-1 away win.
That was last night though and then i woke up and realised we've no Jordan Rhodes.
So just the 2-1 win instead then
Think we've won both games we've played there under Mowbray
I predict another 5+ changes and another defeat. Would love to be surprised by the latter but I just can’t see it.
We'll get beat. Comfortably as well I imagine.
3-1.
Reminds me a lot of Rovers going there to be honest, shell of a big club coating over a very standard average championship centre. Bigger crowds but similar feeling in the ground of nervousness need the team at it to get them going.
On their day it all lives up to its tag, like us but mostly a bland experience on and off the pitch when it ought to be so much better. Think playing at grounds like this suites Rovers it has a familiar feel to it.
this is the time to release the beast, step forward ben brereton,he`ll be like a rampaging water buffalo dribbling through the forest defence like tom finney on acid, mark my words, this is the beginning of his rovers stardom
2-1 win. Brereton to get a brace
You've got to start Brereton. He can't be any worse than Gallagher and to be fair to him he has started a lot less games in the times he has been here. Think we're looking at a 2-0 defeat. Raft of changes. Limp, lifeless, disjointed display. Players out of position, no wingers. Groundhog Day.
Well if Huddersfield can beat us and they where poor i think Forest will win 3 nil can't see where the goals are going to come from . A lot better defenders in forest team
I'm expecting a repeat of Wigan-Big Club-Hudds. Out enthused again.
The ship is going down and it's all because of the injuries and the financial regulations and because of 95 and all that, the opposition start 'playing like Real Madrid'.
An easy 2-0 to Forest.
bizarrely i think we`ll get something out of this one, forest are also a weedy side and like to pass it sideways, they are much like ourselves style wise,im`e predicting a 1-1 draw
I think we'd all like to romance ourselves in a 'starts against former club and has a blinder' story. But sadly we live in reality.
He's got a chance of starting under Tony's Tombola. However I'd put my money on his next start being Birmingham away on Saturday
I dread this game it could well be the pasting we don’t want sadly
Huddersfield also beat Forest 2-1 a week ago, just saying.
Becoming apathetic again with this team....
1-0
I think we can go and win at Forest. They have been on a poor run and was also beaten by Huddersfield recently/.
I don't know how we line up tbh cos I don't know who is fit or is injured But I would start Brereton in this game. Play him up front with Gallagher
No idea what team we should be putting out. Graham is a certainty. Would give Holtby a run in the 10 position and not shunted out wide if he is fit. Would go for Evans alongside Travis again if the former is fit. The centre backs and keeper pick themselves. Would play Armstrong back on the right. Left side, Downing is a given but between Williams, Bell and Rothwell, its who to play down that side alongside him. Rothwell has been crap and Bell is always crap so for the purpose of having no alternatives, even though hes not very good himself, I would play Williams LB and Downing LM. Right back we need to hope that Nyambe recovers, otherwise I would go with Rankin Costello. If he is injured, then Travis to RB and Davenport CM.
Dont want to see Bennett near the team, dont want to see Gallagher, dont want to see Bell and dont want to see Buckley
Expecting Tony to make a further 6 or 7 changes due to fatigue. Forrest will stick with the same settled side and run out 3 0 winners...
Travis hasn't played right back in over 2 years and NEVER at first team level. He is a centre midfielder not a full back.
Nyambe and Williams are supposedly injured according to Mowbray post match comments.
I hope Evans is fit so he can play centre mid with Travis. A partnership that has produced the best results for us
Its very much as a last resort but above playing the dreadful Bennett who I hope is moved on in January. A dismal player.
I like Bennett in the squad but He isn't a right back tho. He is a victim of his own attitude that he is willing to play anywhere for the club and wont complain about it.
He is shit in midfield too. Just not a Championship standard footballer.
Summer gives TM chance to re-sign any of his favs or signings that are out of contract.
We really need something from the Forest game or this season will might start to like it's built on sand.
A draw wouldn't be a disaster.
Another defeat, though, and the PNE game begins to loom very large.
5 changes from the Hudds game.
A meek 2-0 defeat.
Hopefully Mowbray puts the scarf back on.
In 11 home games they’ve only scored 11 and conceded 11 (4 of which were in one half to Sheff Weds the other week).
So I’ll go for a drab affair ending 1-0 to them.
Every player should be up for this game tired or not they are professional footballers. They can be rested for the FA cup match in readiness for the bobbers game
If Forest have done their research they'll just pick a physical side and out muscle us.
But if they stand off us we have half a chance.
I expect 6 or 7 changes. Our players seem more tired then everyone else. 3 0 defeat...
Not got a clue other than suspecting we are already 3 games into a horrible run of results and this will be the 4th..
Mowbray will go and try to get a draw and will be delighted if we do get that.
That actually wouldnt bother me if he could set the team up to go away from home, defend as a unit and absorb pressure but I can count on one hand the number of times we have managed to do that.
We are playing the mighty juggernaut Forest and should be excited to be able to play them and 'test ourselves' against such a great side - that will be the attitude.
Expect minimum 4 changes, probably more. Can't be bothered trying to guess what he will do next. Dack's injury and other unavailability looks to have sent Mowbray into a tailspin of chopping and changing. Try to second guess him at your peril.
Fooking Dumbo and his lucky feather. Mind you, if it was the difference that made the difference then definitely get it back round his neck. Make him fooking sleep in it, if it helps us to win again.
Win ugly, or with style, we only ever remember the result!
COY scarvey Blues!
