Defending properly is as important as passing properly at this level. Especially away from home. I hate the time wasting and think it is unnecessary. Grabban flew past their defender before being  hauled over. Sow is a machine who may look ungainly but is a high quality player on and off the ball. Watson is gobby, no doubt  but he was also the best player on the pitch.

They were  crap because we wouldn't let them play end of.

Lucky deflection -yes. But  came from crap goalkeeping and crap defending. Deal with it. Our goalkeeping and defending has been top draw most of the season.

So statistically mid table!! Whaaat?  Points on the board, the only stat that truly matters, we are 3rd.
The fact our striker is so clinical is a good thing, not a bu11sh1t stat about  chances created blah blah. 
I like Brentford in real life. The keyboard warriors are mugs.

They've got some brass, nerve and cheek.  Siting our 'game management' (an area I thought Forest could improve upon, ironically...)  How many times have Forest been 'done' by 'game management' sides that are now sitting pretty in the Premier?

What a bunch of arrogant pricks, they realky fo believe they are a footballing team. They hide behind having an off day to excuse their inability to create clear openings and move a organised side around sufficiently to cause problems. Yes we are organised but we are away from home in a key game, what else do they expect - they are Brentcelona!!!

As for cynical fouls, they need to watch the game again, they were as quilty but hey ho.

We've seen these delusions of grandeur with Bolton and Charlton fans in the Premier.  'Alladice' and 'Curbishley' weren't good enough any longer.

Leicester and Rogers.  ('Well suited for each other...'  He abandoned Celtic in the 'moment of victory...)

Their manager 'can talk.'  But what about that 'hand rake' to GRabban's eyes and face?  Dirty as you get.

I wouldn’t fancy watching Forest week in week out, sounds like sometimes it’s very similar at home for them at times too. Still they did a job and did it well, Watson and Worrall played well. Keeper although a bit of a bell end didn’t really have a save to make?

Messed up too many corners. Thought Halil / Valencia should have come on just to change it up more but hindsight is brilliant! JDS not at the races, thought Jensen had a good 1st half but was probably already decided to hook him due to injury.

Wouldn’t fancy them in the play offs, sounds like they are trying for a couple more signings to boost their squad

I thought pre match transfer wise we would be fine but maybe TF’s reluctance to bring Halil on is a sign?! I dunno

Looked a definite pen to me, in fact it summed the referee up perfectly that he didn’t give it.

Out muscled by a team well drilled in the dark arts and a ref easily conned

Ben Watson played superbly and ran the show, not an easy task as he refereed the game as well. Carbon copy from last season in that respect, and yet we were totally unprepared for it.

It’s easy to say Forest got lucky, because of the nature of their goal (ignoring the fact we left Lolley unmarked on the edge of the box), but first half I thought they were the best side I’ve seen this season, second half they just managed the life out the game. Overall, their defensive organisation reduced us to getting the ball wide and trying to put crosses into the centre, we haven’t played that way since our league one days and that’s not how we create or score our goals, but it’s all they allowed us to muster.

For all their time wasting and antics they picked up very few booking (iirc), a sign of how useless the ref was (only 3 mins added at the end of each half??) but also how brilliantly they can manage a tricky away fixture. If we have genuine promotion credentials then we must be able to grind out results, I’m not suggesting we go full Warnock’s Cardiff or Karanka’s Boro, but we must find a balance in those games that we know, before a ball is even kicked, will pan out in that fashion, or at very least be able to nullify their attempts - Forest had the freedom to do whatever they liked and we were utterly powerless to it, a painful watch.

Anyone know why we had no ball boys behind the Ealing Road goal? Why is Raya having to scurry around leaping over advertising hoardings to retrieve the ball? It was worse than being away at Millwall. Not only is it a waste of time but it tires out Raya and risks him turning an ankle. It’s not Sunday league ffs.

Forest were boring, cheating time wasters & the ref was happy to let 5th official Ben Watson make most of the major decisions.
Deja-vu from Birmingham/Stoke/Huddersfield games & we really need to work out a plan to deal with opponents who adopt that playing “style”.

Forest were brilliant at the back and allowed to get away with darks arts, they are not third because our forwards were off form, they are third because they do this every week.

Sounds like Forest did their job brilliantly. They scored a fluke goal and made sure they didnt concede one. We should learn a lesson here and that is how to manage the game and win.
The result tonight was far more important than anything else. We consistently have had no answer to teams that turn up to stifle the way we play. Almost every defeat has been 1-0 and virtually every defeat has been against teams who play this way. We haven't learnt how to deal with it, or even if we have the players you need to create, against these spoiling tactics.
To achieve success you need to win ugly sometimes. Forest did that and that's why they deserved the points.

What a load of football snobbery about Forest. It’s professional sport. You do what you have to do to win. When you read some other clubs fans forums, they refer to us as Brentfordola. Not surprising really given the moral high ground on this thread.

Agree largely with this in an incredibly frustrating evening under the GP floodlights. Again a cynical, organised team thwart our young team on their own patch. The match officials largely swallowed Forests gamesmanship throughout with only token censure and a ridiculously short amount of additional time at the match end.

At times in the 2nd half I swear Watson was telling the referee how to manage the match. We lacked penetration and with JDS struggling for most of the match we struggled to break the ranks of disciplined defenders. Said tried and tried until he had no more to give in what must have been an emotional roller coaster for the lad. Mbeumo struggled, typified by two uncharacteristic 'air' shots when handily placed in the 2nd half. The BMW developed a tad of a spluttering engine this evening & TF seemed strangely reluctant to try and fix the problem. Watkins had a great chance to play SB clean in on goal shortly before half time but cut inside himself and rolled the finish wide of the upright.

Ameobi posed a threat and kept Rico occupied and Grabban occasionally threatened but following Lolley's 'Lucky' strike Forest didn't need to do much going forward and instead set up to frustrate us and did it very well. Although we enjoyed a huge amount of possession after the break too often our final ball or cross was of poor quality or no one was on the end of it.

Too many occasions this season we've failed to get something out of games where teams have got their noses ahead and then parked the proverbial bus. Charlton, Millwall, Huddersfield....now Forest. We're a young squad and obviously missed PJ's leadership last night but surely in the last quarter last night it was crying out for TF to change the personnel and tactics. JDS wasn't really at the races, that little s@£t Watson was running the match and in the Ref's ear maybe give Yearwood a go - high energy, tackles, presses. Maybe change formation give young Dervisoglu (who has a goal in him) a go and give Ollie some support in a 4-4-2 or push Ollie out wide for a tiring Mbeumo or Said. Just to give Lamouchi & Co something different to consider. I'm a huge TF fan but just thought his opposite number held all the cards last night. Horrible phrase but we lacked a Plan B last night.

I thought Forest were very good and organised. We had an off day. We have a fantastic set of players and are not far off the top two. Hopefully we can find a player or two to come in before the deadline. Wonderful and exciting times ahead. COYB.

Reading through their forums, christ is it possible for a set of fans to be more up their own arse.

We just can't deal with these time wasting, cheating sides.
From their first goal kick, I thought, "here we go."
I just knew they would be a niggly side which we find difficult to cope with.
Their manager encouraged every cheating aspect of their game, he even applauded
a couple of his players for holding the game up.
Forest were a disgrace, just like Huddersfield were.
I'd hate to watch games like that every week but we really need to be able to
combat such tactics.

Long ball is the wrong way in the long run and last night, the wrong tactic. Add to that a plethora of overhit and untimed passes, especially in the second half against a resolute defence. Nørgaard miss was an awkward chance. Grabban missed a sitter.
A Forest fan said we are now the team to beat. I hope we don’t start thinking of ourselves as The Leeds of the South.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see them going up playing that way. Shithousing 1-0 wins is an effective Championship tactic, like your Boros and Cardiffs of recent seasons.

But similarly I wouldn't be at all surprised if they subsequently came straight back down because of that lack of a plan B. Like your Boros and Cardiffs of recent seasons.

As for our shithousery, I thought the level was only on the medium setting. If they got the full treatment they'd be rioting.
